Kam also says, "H-Town. Sucka." That sort of force with brevity is rarely seen. Good stuff!

I vote for DaDakota....always brings something worthwhile to the plate...well usually anyway.;)

Honorable Mention goes to Hottodie for all that work in coming up with good, but sometimes ridiculous, trade proposals.

Hey, no one is answering the question!

As in- why do they do it? Not why do you think they work hard. But why do they bother with all the effort?

I think Doc Rocket puts out the effort because he is one of the info leaders on the board. He has a responsibility in a way, to share his "insder" type info.

    1) I really don't get the too long thing, no joke, Oh, I agree that everyone says it, and therefore I acknowledge that I am on the outside looking in on this, but as someone who reads a lot, these posts of mine seem remarkably sound bite to me...

    2) Completely agree re: Grizzled. Excellent poster, and probably puts a lot more 'work' into his posts than I do. I pretty much write this stuff spontaneously, although the thoughts behind them may have some sort of organization.

Ditto...and guys, in general, thanks for all of the kind words...but I suspect that this isn't what Jackie had in mind. I rather think he saw this thread as more of a mild criticism of...well...posters like me...;)

I'm not sure why or where, maybe just my war position, but a few months back it became pretty apparent that a few of the senior posters in here, and SJC being prominent among them, decided that I was someone they disliked, and that they wanted to dissuade others from agreeing with me. Since then pretty much everything SJC and certain others have ever said about me, in any context, has been negative.

To each their own, but if you read the original post in this thread, I would think that it is at least apparent that posters praising long posts...and who is famous for that?...as well thought out and fair is not what the poster had in mind.

    More like " Needs affirmation...blows his own horn...long winded...get a life..." etc.

Most effort? MacBeth for sure. His posts are long, relative to others on the board, but no one's more sincerely thoughtful here and no one spends more time or effort on good dialogue. And I'd say that's true in 3 forums here at least.

Thanks, DD. Big of you to say that. But when am I not angry?

Bob Dylan said once, "I'm not angry... I'm delightful, really..." He also said, "I'm glad I'm not me." That goes double for me.

No..not at all. I also know that you reflect the majority...I am just acknowledging that I don't get it, that's all. I would see a problem if people felt that I rambled, or that the quantity doesn't reflect quality, but people seem to feel that they like what i say, but that I say too damned much of it, and that's what i don't understand. If you like it, how is 4 or 5 paragraphs too much?

But as Rimmy accurately pointed out, it does sort of just flow out, so maybe I do wander or ramble a bit.

I agree with what rimmy and most of what fade had to say.

I would say OP and Clutch put the most into their posts, when they are posting. Clutch, whether he's flaming someone or talking about the rox, always seems to give it his all. OP organizes his posts and makes them really enjoyable to read, and even responds promptly to all the barrage of questions he receives.

How is it back handed when I was basing it on what you yourself have posted? Besides, the parenthetical comment was an attempt to avoid you having a negative reading...hmmm, I suck.

I forgot to answer this myself. To be truthfull, I usually abstain from any of these Who's The ______Poster, partly because I always have too many people, and partly because, by virtue of the kind of discussions I usually engage in, I am often more likely to remember the name of the person with whom I argued/disagreed than those worthies with whom I agree...

But I feel that this is failry neutral, so I'll give it a shot.

DoD, obviously, and CLutch et al with regards to their hard work on game reports, summaries, etc.

Jeff's arguments seem well thought out, but I don't know if that's a product of work or reason. He does, however, put a lot of work into all the stadium stuff, and his posts on local politics seem to genuinely reflect time and effort.

Treeman and Hayes, Batman, FB, both RMs, SamFisher, and so many others respond to threads, or post threads themselves that, at the very least reflect effort to deal with the issues with diligence and seriosuness.

The there are the guys who spend all kinds of time reading outside sources, and posting them in here so that we can benefit, like Glynch, Heath ( for a while), Woofer, No Worries, and others...

Any of these guys is more deserving of respect for work that I am. I appreciate the consideration, and i do agree that I try to be fair, reasoned, and while I do post 'off the cuff' sp to speak, that is not to say that I post in a careless fashion. But as far as work, no, not really something I can claim all that much, not compared to many of these guys.

And as far as WHY I feel any of these guys take the time, maybe it's being the son of a psychologist, but I got bored with pop psych diagnosis a long time ago, and wouldn't presume to guess at another posters hidden motives.

No way you get a vote, Smeg...and it's all about stereotypes. You are Australian...hence easy going and laid back...it is doubtfull that if it ever came down to spending a few extra minutes on a post, or reaching for a Fosters, you would even consider the former. Sorry, but you are a victim of your own coolness.
