Has Mitch Richmond broken the 20,000 pt barrier? If so, he would automatically get some consideration. If it was up to me, Reggie nor Richmond would make it. The hall should be for the best of the best. And Richmond and Reggie are not exactly in that class.

There are players that are a "lock" to be in the HOF even if they retire today, they are
    Hakeem
    Malone
    Stockton
    Quitten
    Shaq
    Ewing
    D. Robinson

The following players are borderline HOF, meaing they need another few years of "good" play to make it.
    Mutombo (2 yr - DPoY, 13reb)
    Payton (2 yr - 22pt, 8ast, 2stl)
    Mourning (3 yr - 20pt, 11reb, 2blk)

The players needs at least 4 great years of play to be even considered:
    Webber (4 yr - 24pt, 10reb, 3ast)
    Kemp (4 yr - 20pt, 10reb, 2ast, 2blk)
    Iverson (5 yr - 27pt, 5ast, 4reb)
    Hill (5 yr - 23pt, 7ast, 6reb)
MJ2 (6 yr or just 3 more rings)
    Duncan (6 yr - 24pt, 12reb)
    Garnett (6 yr - 22pt, 10reb, 3ast)
    SAR (6 yr - 22pt, 9reb, 3ast)
    Kidd (6 yr - 16pt, 11ast, 2stl)

I peronally don't think Iverson will make it, because there is no way his body can continue to take all the punishments that he has endured thru the years. As for Kemp, if he can make a comeback and be the dominating player he once was for another 4 year, I think he should be considered. However, I don't think it's likely at the age of 31.

The rest here are just at the beginning of their career and have much to prove (at least 7+ years)
Marbury, Carter, Francis, McGrady, Odom, ect...

The following players won't make it unless they elevate their game to an even higher level (and play at that level for a few more years) or get a few rings:
    Allen
    - Car Avg : .450FG, 4.6Reb, 3.8Ast, 1.25Stl, .18Blk, 19Pt
    - Best Yr : .480FG, 5.2Reb, 4.6Ast, 1.51Stl, .24Blk, 22Pt
    Finley
    - Car Avg : .455FG, 5.2Reb, 4.2Ast, 1.25Stl, .36Blk, 19.2Pt
    - Best Yr : .457FG, 6.3Reb, 5.3Ast, 1.33Stl, .39Blk, 22.6Pt
    Sprewell
    - Car Avg : .434FG, 4.3Reb, 4.3Ast, 1.61Stl, .54Blk, 19.3Pt
    - Best Yr (5 yr ago) : .449FG, 4.6Reb, 6.3Ast, 1.65Stl, .56Blk, 24.2Pt

Take consideration that one of the all-time 50 players, James Worthy, did not make it to the HOF (at least in his 1st try). Personally, I don't think he will ever make it and I don't think he even be in that top 50 list. Here are his career #s during his 12 years in the pro:
    926Gm, .521FG, 5.1Reb, 3.0Ast, 1.12Stl, .67Blk, 17.6Pt

Worthy's #s aren't that much different than Allen, Finely, & Sprewell's #s. If Worthy doesn't make it (even though he has won 1 NCAA & 3 NBA championships), I don't see how these 3 can make it.

McDyess has a chance, but he need to put together 7 strong seasons. At the age of only 26, he has a shot.

I don't think Reggie Miller has will make it. Although he is known to be a "clutch" shooter, he really doesn't do much anything else "well". His #s aren't better than Worthy's:
    1094Gm, .476FG, 3.2Reb, 3Ast, 1.13Stl, .25Blk, 19.5Pt

Richmond's #s are slightly better, but I don't think it's enough to make it:
    912Gm, .456FG, 4.1Reb, 3.7Ast, 1.3Stl, .3Blk, 22.2Pt

No love for T-Mac? He has had only one great year but his talent showed. If he can keep it up or anything close to it he could make the Hall.

I think for a person to get into the HOF then it most be a no brainer. If you have to ask if someone deserves to be in the HOF then they probably don't deserve it.

IMO the Hall should be reserved for only the most special of players. BTW Magic is not even in the HOF yet and IMO Pippen does not deserve it.

here is a link to the Hall of Fame for anyone that does not know how to find it on the web.

The one thing I don't like about it is that it is not an NBA hall of fame it is a Basketball hall of fame and it includes college players, women as well as others. I would like to see an NBA hall of fame myself.

Mitch Richmond will most likely crack the 20,000 point barrier. At this point he has 19,639 career points.
