No trading away Alston would be silly. I saw how much a difference Alston made when he was in the game vs Brooks, James, Wells, Jackson, Head. He is actually a good floor general and gets the Rockets into their stuff pretty well. So as Alston goes so do the Rockets. A healthy Francis would be a good backup for T-Mac as the shooting guard and might even compete for a few minutes with Alston. I think Head and Jackson might be gone next season as we look for another PG to help. Of course we are also good if we stand Pat.

    Childress and Maggette all work!

We need a player who can move effectively without the ball, like a Richard Hamilton type player!

We need a player to tire out the Battier/Bowens of the opposing team, so that Tmac has a better time doing what he does.

Maggette got 9.7 FTs a game. He penetrates and attacks the rim frequently and that's exactly what we need. Childress is good but I dont think he is capable of being our 3rd option.

    Agree..

    46% Career FG shooter.
Has only played in all 82 games once in his career.

This guy is a frequent medical flier and misses more shots than he makes. Can't see how someone this injury prone can be an upgrade to an already injury riddled team.

Josh Childress would be an excellent addition to our team. He has good size for a 2/3 with great length and shoots excellent percentages from both the field (57%) and line (81%). The icing on the cake would have to be his style of play though. He cuts extremely well off the ball, and, being from stanford, he would pick up adelmans offense quicker than the vast majority of nba players. He also averages 2.3 offensive rebounds in under 30 minutes per game. I like that hustle a lot.

I have been watching out for Josh Childress a lot recently. Not only is he what the post above me described--a very good percentage shooter, good size and length, good rebounding, overall just good efficiency. But he is also clutch, did you see his driving down the baseline against Boston for that basket and a foul?

I really hope we can use all our MLE on him. Even then is he a bargain. Some analyst on ESPN said he is a bargain at MLE. Its just Atlanta will probably match any offer sheets.

By the way, I am really interested in Mike Miller. Can someone explain to me what are the possble or likely ways we'll be getting him? I.e. what kind of a deal will we have to offer in terms of players and picks etc.? and is Memphis likely to want to trade him?

JUST SAY NO to mike miller, the guy is soft, and not that good of shooter.

I will say I am really intrigued by Corey Maggette, I dont know that we have the money or that he would accept coming off the bench in a Manu Ginobli type role for Shane or Tracy.

the best option is for Gerald Green to get his act together in the summer league and be key player for the rockets 15pts per game.

Likely options: Ander Miller and Elton Brand.

2nd best options: Mike Miller and Mike Pietrus

wet dream: Corey Maggette and Ron Artest :p
