There's also the possibility the Rockets will have a splash-free summer.

My vote is Pau Gasol or Chris Bosch if there's any chance he leaves Miami. Would love an upgrade at point guard but I don't think Kyle is leaving Toronto and I'm not sure Rondo is a good fit for James.

Which brings me to team chemistry. I think if Carmello comes here you can kiss goodbye to Harden evolving into his fullest potential. It would be Hero ball all over the place and Howard will have no choice but to play the every man for himself game. McHale doesn't have a system per say so forget about trying to fit Carmello into anything looking like team basketball.

I hope we get an older former All Star power forward or pointguard who knows how to win and who isn't completely past their prime. That's my vote.

My vote is for Paul Millsap.
I really don't see what we could offer that would bring Kevin Love away from Minny. Chandler is a nice start but after that there really isn't much.

Our biggest hole is PF. With Harden dominating the ball, we do not need a PG in the mold of Rondo honestly. With the way our offense is structured, we need somebody like a Chalmers mold at PG (one who is good at their role and can shoot)

Love would be fantastic for this team. His ability to rebound and stretch the floor is an incredibly valuable skill. The only issue I can think of, is defense. He isn't very good.

If Daryl Morey was truly a 10/10, the players would chase us

Well from that list, you go after Love. But Minnesota is not trading before February. They're gonna give it one last shot and see if they can sneak into the playoffs first.

This team absolutely needs defense. It is a big reason why we were bumped out of the first round this year. We don't have one player on the roster who can actually play it. While adding guys like Melo and K-Love would be great, they are also known for not playing defense. By adding either of those guys we are actually taking away defense from the team. Rondo brings defense, leadership, accountability, cuts down on our turnovers, and allows Harden to rest more during the regular season and even in the playoffs. That is why he is the guy that this team needs.

Me. I'm the PG they need.

I say Kevin Love because even though I have been against it, I realized we need that third scorer that can also rebound. If we can get some defensive guys to protect him and Harden like Marion, Reggie Evans, CLee, Okafor (if healthy) etc. we could be a well rounded team. The problem is I feel Melo might be an easier get than KLove cause he is a free agent and Minny may not want to play ball with us....

    All the above?

Jk, really I'd be absolutely thrilled with either of those guys. Voted Rondo, but I don't know who I'd prefer to be honest.

Trade for Arron Afflalo who is a great defensive wing and scorer.
Sign Kyle Lowry a unrestricted free agent
Replace Asik with Andris Biedrins for cheap

Out with Lin and give up a second rounder
Trade Asik for Afflalo to include a second team
Pick up team option for Chandler Parsons
Sign for cheap on bench and let Garcia, Casspi, abd Covington go.

I didn't hate your post too much (No thanks on Biedel Juice) but this is silly. Covington is absolutely going nowhere unless it is a trade for a third superstar. This guy screams stud and I can't see us just letting him go. I think Canaan, Daniels and Covington are all so talented there is no need to hold on to our 1st round this year. This gives us a lot of flexibility with a deep draft.

Takes two to tango, and Lin/Asik are entering their poison pill contract years.

I too thought Kevin Love initially but after reading a few posts it is clear that Rondo a seasoned point guard who isn't points hungry but can control the offense is the key. James controls the ball plenty but doesn't do it too well with high TO. Also Rondo will help us get quality shots instead of chucking up prayer threes.

Stretch PF is good but if K Love gets in foul trouble early guarding Aldridge then we are back at square one. How about Ian Mahimi and L Scola for Asik?

Although I think getting Kevin (or even Millsap or Lowry) is unlikely, you have to get a third star if you have the chance.

Just like people didn't want Dwight because they thought Asik was better, all of theses guys are upgrades over our current starters at their positions.

    1. Love
    2. Carmelo
    3. Rondo

    4. Guys like Millsap, Dirk and a 3 and D PG or swing-man.

Scola cannot return to us until his contract is finished

Also that is a terrible trade
