    i was gonna guess jake.

who, by the way, has one of the most fun nicknames in the league. named for a slight mispronunciation of the first half of his last same (and a popular japanese drink... saaaakeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!

it's just fun to say with a japanese accent and a lot of gusto.

i hope jake gets instant minutes so deke isn't out there wearing himself out. watching the chuck hayes show against guys twice his size is getting old. i can't believe we've done this well with just 1 real center the past few months, and an under-sized power forward playing significant minutes as the center.

True, Chucky is undersized PF being forced to play minutes at C when Deke is winded or in foul trouble. What might be over looked when saying we have a better option at C than "an under-siezed power forward playing significant minutes..." is he in most cases is way more active and just out hustles the bigger guy, thereby forcing the team to move to a smaller line up with him out there. But, true, his size cannot be overlooked, as I was at the game last Friday night in Dallas, and he was just getting worked on the glass by Dampier.

But, enough thread-jacking, as I know there are plenty of Hayes-backers/lovers on this board for multiple Rox message boards. I'm really stoked that we aren't forced to play Hayes at C because we now have Tsakalidis as an option off the bench. Having him as an makes the smaller line-up a strategic move rather than a forced hand.

What I want to know is, if Rafer and T-Mac are driving and are forced to dump the ball off to Jake under the basket, can he, unlike deke, actually do something with it? Does he have good enough hands to, unlike Chuck, catch the ball in the first place?

If so, then considering how often this situation comes up, Tsakilidis quite possibly has a lot of easy points and rotation minutes coming his way

i think this is why Jake will be an asset to the team. Jake might not be a defensive specialist like Mutombo and isn't as mobile as Hayes, but he makes up for it by being a bit better on the offensive side of the ball. I don't expect him to be a powerhouse or even score 10 a game, but if he can keep the defense honest, it makes things easier for the other guys to score.
