    bigm;
after that world cup he didn't play much due to injury.
i think he said something about wanting to score a whole bunch of goals to prove to the world that he's back.

Alan Shearer. He is the man on World Cup 98. Just pass till he gets it, juke like crazy and score everytime.

So, what's up with the soccer players having only one name? Is it just a South American thing? Do the players start out with two names, then drop a name when they get really good? (ala Shaq, Kobe, Michael)

    yeah, its a fame thing

it helps if you have a good name too.

I think that if England advances out of group that Owen could be a candidate for lead scorer.

also if Poland does anything (god I hope not) than Emmanuel Olisadebe could do well merely because he is all they got (7 goals in last 6 games!!)

    Figo??

I doubt an Argentinian as their team is far to diverse.

I will hope and pray for an American to show well but it aint gonna happen, and I dont pray

    PEACE

    Kliuvert (sp?)

Only because I met him on the beach once.

I almost met Batistuta at the airport, but I didn't know who it was until somebody told me. His wife was HOT...but I guess that's to be expected.

Sorry Prempeh, Kluivert and the Dutch didn't qualify for the world cup this year...

I wish they had! Davids, Bergkamp, and Kluivert are great to watch...:(

    Booooo...

Shows you how much I keep up with soccer.:)

I remember watching the Euro Cup two years ago and Kliuvert went off for 5 goals in one game. That is basically my only memorable soccer watching moment. If I hadn't seen that game, I wouldn't have known who he was, either.

    Shearer's retired from international football.

    I'll take Christian Vieri
In 98 he had like 6 or 5 goals, he's Italy's goal scorer

    Either Batistuta, Vieri or Henry

Ronaldo had some serious (knee?) injuries for a couple of jears that kept him of the field and has declined drastically. Shame, because he was something really special. My favorite player at the time :(

if the Nigerians go deep in the touney, maybe one of them will win the golden boot. Nigerians can score alot of goals, but they give up alot too.
