Which Opposing team commentators have irked you the most?

Actually, Craig Bolerjack, the play-by-play guy for the Jazz, is really a great announcer. If you can peek past his loyalty to his employer and the silly nicknames each player has, he's got pretty good basketball insight and a really easy voice to listen to. I hate the Jazz...but can tolerate listening to their home feeds because of Bolerjack.

Tommy Heinson is by far the worst television announcer that NBALP airs. NBALP should discount everyone 10% just because they'll have to endure that blow-hard at some point during the season when their favorite team has to play the Celtics.

Gotta throw in a "like 'em" vote for Walt Frazier. He's goofily entertaining.

 

It's funny some of you guys mentioned the Clippers announcers. Didn't they get suspended not too long ago for making racially insensitive remarks on air about a Memphis player? There has to be at least a little embarrassment to get suspended from a gig as easy as announcing a game....

 

Listen to the Boston announcers on this one... It's ridiculous.

I hear enough whining at home, I don't need to hear it while watching the rockets. Bill Worrell, Matt Bullard and Clyde Drexler are annoying as f***.

I lived in arizona for awhile and watching the suns announcers are the worst...

One of the guys said Raja bell and boris diaw should be all stars at one point I was sick to my stomach

I remember Boston and Chicago being the worst, but it's been a while since I saw any games on NBALP.

i don't really have a problem with any other teams announcers. sean elliot is the only guy id like to punch in the face everytime i have listen to him.

When I think of bad announcers, Sean Elliot is always at the top of my list, the first guy I think of. He was the Homer of Homers. Man, I simply couldn't stand to listen to this guy when the Rockets played SA. Just...couldn't....stand it...*pokes fingers through ears*

My problem with announcers isn't necessarily that they don't know what they're talking about unless they're saying something with some sense of authority. My biggest aggro against non-Rockets announcers is that they don't quite understand that they have non-their-team-fans listening to them. As if they and their team is the center of the universe. The only things they talk about are their home team. The only plays that are replayed are in their own team's favor. The only plays that aren't called for a foul that deserved ones are ones against them. And of course, telling me that your players are always right, so when they complain about a foul the refs must have been wrong, but when a Rockets player complains the announcer mocks him...GRRRRrrrr...

Earlier in the season I was able to listen to Portland announcers. I remember that they stood out for some reason, but I couldn't remember if it was because they were really good and fair or terrible and completely biased. Seeing that they've been named as some of the worse commentators and were never mentioned for best, I think it's safe to say that they suck. So yeah...

I put Portland's announcers right there in the top 3.

It is my opinion that with the coming of NBA League Pass, all announcers should treat their audiences as fans of both their team and of their opposing teams. Basically, all announcers should act like nationally televised announcers.

 

As a Wolves fan, I've watched my fair share of games and their commentators are no where near the best. If anything they are one of the worst and its not even because they are huge homers, they just really stink.

 

celtics by far. i remember watching one of their games and one of their commentators said on a foul against the celtics "you need put your green goggles on. i will not accept you calling for other team" (obviously referring to his broadcast partner) or something to that extend. yes, i kid you not!

 

Portland. I mute the TV when we're playing them on the road.

The New Orleans Hornets announcers are jerks. They seem to give no credit to Houston's success against them. They talked down on all our players too. Come to think of it, who can blame them? We've own the Hornets.

 

Denver, specifically Scott Hastings. I hate listening to him.

I hate to admit it, but the Mavs announcers are pretty fair and balanced, amazingly.
