which of these top-salaried players would you rather have?

Regardless of what we want, it's quite obvious that Morey wants Dwight in a houston uniform. And he would be the most logical choice by far.

I believe the rocks can still add a max salary even after signing harden to a max deal, so it's not either/or.

 

I don't think Durvasa was implying that Harden is better than all those guys, I think he was trying to show that this is a slam dunk investment as a core to build around for the next 5 years. Puts us in a situation to have a top 5 core going forward, especially if we can pull another similar move (LMA anyone?) or score a big hit in next summers free agency.

 

Aldridge, Lebron, Carmelo, or Kevin Love. I think those are the best bets weighing in age, injury risk, and likelyhood of them wanting out of their current situations. Obviously Lebron is the longest shot coming off a Championship but things happen. Aldrigde seems to be the most likely to me given the situation in Portland. Love could possibly get upset with the Twolves after they get beaten in the playoffs this year or next. And finally the Knicks...thats all there is to say about Carmelo's odds of being delt.

I'll keep my fingers crossed that Miami stumbles and Lebron wants out before the team starts to decline. Lin, Harden, and James.

 

Because of Harden's age and where we are at in the rebuild process...only Lebron and Durant.
