.9 also more depressing due to the "near-miss effect" or "counterfactual thinking" (same reason why bronze medalists are happier than silver medalists). Doesn't mean I'd rather us go 0-4 in the first round than lose by .9 in like a hypothetical finals, but the .9 does really add to the sting.
