Boomboom gets my vote for job as clutchcity statistician.

I was going to go with the "obscure" stat of steals by a center. Now I have been beaten by time and style.

    In order:

    1. A.C. Green, 38 year old virgin that played a pro sport...never again. NEVER

    2. Wilt's 100............not the way the modern game is played.
    No way in Hell!

    3. Stock's assists record might as well be a lost issue cause it won't ever be broken...unless they change certain rules.
Something like a player gets an assist if the player that he passed to was fouled and made both of his foul shots.
    Even then........Hell No!

4.Wilt's 20,000.......if that is true.....I can't imagine it being broken.

There will always be speculation about that whole blocked shots record. You also need to be aware of the fact that they didn't count goal tending. A great deal of their so called blocks could have been goal tending for all we know. Didn't the goal tending call come along with the shot block record statistic?

I think Wilt Chamberlain's 50.4 ppg in a single season is the hardest to break...

Actually, this is just a common misconception about the old game. Even though blocks were not counted, goal-tending was still illegal.

I'm not exactly sure when they put the goal-tending rule into place. But I can tell you this: I'm not sure whether it was his high school or college games, but Wilt said that he wanted badly to play in the NBA because of the goal-tending and shot-clock rules. With his great leaping ability and height, Wilt claimed that the other team would go entire quarters without scoring, not a difficult thing to believe. So we can be sure that by 1960 the NBA had a goal-tending rule, and I would be very surprised if the league hadn't put in a rule long before that, with Mikan and Russell under the basket.

By the way, I have seem Wilt's first game as a rookie on tape, and I counted the # of blocks he had in that game: 17. Does that put some of your doubts to rest? Earl Strom wasn't kidding when he said about 8 blocks/game for Wilt and Russell.

Wasn't it neck and neck with him and Kevin Johnson before KJ finally broke on through?

Most consecutive free throws missed in a NBA finals game resulting in an eventual sweep?
