Yeah I know it's a negative thread but it's COVID time and have too much time on my hands to brood.

Also maybe we can get a reverse jinx out of this.

Was just thinking about the times I wanted to put my foot through the screen watching Houston teams but these two games stand out for me.

2018 WCF Rockets miss 27 three pointers in a row.
2019 WS Astros lose every game at home. Blow a late inning lead after pulling Greinke off the mound.

The San Antonio series from 2017 still grinds my gears. Manu blocks Harden in game 5. Game 6, Spurs missing Parker and Kawhi and Rockets still manage to have a piss poor game and are humiliated.

Yeah that was a bad one. Especially since we started the series up 2-0

I cried when we lost to Utah in 2007. It was so close and we just couldn’t rebound the ball down the stretch. I was 9 at the time.

Those McHale-led teams were horrible to watch.

This one was bad too. So many T-Mac/Yao era frustrations to choose from...

2018 but perhaps that was more of a frustrating series. The refs screwing us is really painful though.

2007 was bad which I attended in person but that team wasn't really a championship contender. But that year we would have played the 8th seed Warriors in the 2nd round so pretty frustrating.

Baseball is a few levels below basketball for me.

Easily 2018 and it's not even close. A true championship contender, up by 5-10 points, only to stubbornly keep shooting threes while losing the lead. I felt confident we would win and it was just awful to watch a coach and star player piss it all away, by just not changing things up. Never seen it before.

Others in play besides what's listed above.

1993 WC 2nd round vs Seattle - Kenny misses an open 3 at the buzzer and Mad Max misses a shot on the baseline in OT that would have given them the lead
2004 NLCS vs the Cardinals - Clemens on the mound, early lead - very similar to last year's World Series
2005 WC 1st round vs the Mavs - the 40 point drubbing
2007 WC 1st round vs the Jazz - God I hate the Jazz, but McGrady just wouldn't try to drive late in that series
2008 WC 2nd round vs Lakers - No McGrady, no Yao, no Mutombo and we still won Game 6...basketball gods should have rewarded us

I'll take 2018's loss to Golden State because we were a hammy away from probably winning the whole thing, but that 1993 loss hurts as I think we beat the Suns and finally get that match up vs the Bulls.

The most painful, 2005 vs Dallas. We really were hyped for the win, and if I remember, I still let my mood be affected by this forum, so I was Hyped too.

The most unbelievable, 2018 vs Warriors. 27 3 pt fgs are something else. It was frustrating to watch us unravel like that.

But I agree with someone else, wednesday feels like 2008 vs Lakers. Where we go into Game 7 saying the right things but seeing the eyes of our players tell us a different story.

2005 against Dallas. I believe we were up 2-0 as well and were blown out in Game 7. The worst possible outcome and series.

That was bad too. With that one it was the first round so wasn't quite so frustrated as 2018. The 2005 loss was a first round loss too but losing by 40 after being up 2-0 was just so depressing.

It's expected that Rockets losses are getting brought up more than the Stros as this is ultimately a Rockets board and not a Houston sports board but that 2019 loss still burns me. Especially with how much hatred the Stros are getting now.

Bro, I was nine years old when that series happened. I remember watching every game of that series. I also remember when that shot went up, I stood up and when I saw it go in, I just dropped to the ground and cried uncontrollably for about 10 minutes. I remember my uncle was trying to calm me down, but the pain was just too much.

I love sports, but holy ****, what a ****ing ride it is when you think your team is good enough to win a championship.
