Tim Duncan was born a US citizen in US territory. He is not "international" because he is not from another "nation."

Manu: 3 rings, Kukoc: 3 rings, Parker: 3 rings, Pau 2 rings... Vujacic: 2 rings

But seriously, has to be Dirk. Dream is American and arguably the greatest defensive player ever. He probably the reason why the league became more international but he doesn't need the "greatest international player" tag because he is one of the greatest ever.

Dirk OTOH arguably one of the greatest offense only players. Funny how he and Nash ended up like that. They never practiced Defense together.

I agree with you. If Nigeria had a decent basketball team there's no question Dream would have played in international tournaments like Dirk.

To answer the thread starter's question - best player born abroad: Hakeem. Best player who does not currently hold a US passport: Dirk.

Hakeem is in the poll option therefore the 15 people that voted for Dirk need to get their heads examined.

Or it could just be pull_up_3 voting from different computers  It's a tough job being the president of Dirk's fan club.

I guess Hakeem would count as international if he didn't get the American citizenship and play for team USA.

I mean Nash played college ball in the states just like Hakeem and he has always been treated as an international. The only difference is he is still Canadian and played for the Canadian national team on multiple occasions.
