he has his own game and hes a lefty so you really can't find much comparison. ginobili but he's not a bench player anymore and ginobili does ginobili things.

James harden is his own style. the beard.

I don't know how everyone has missed the obvious, he has emulated his entire offensive repertoire after Rafer Alston. How do yall not see this?? I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!!

    Best case scenario: Kevin McHale.

Not the same game, of couse, but the career arc: came off the bench as a young player and won Sixth Man of the Year Award (McHale did it twice in his 3rd and 4th season, I think), went on to be a Hall of Famer as a ridiculously crafty and efficient scorer.

    James Harden...comparison?

The trade of James Harden got me thinking...who is he most comparable to? There is no time specification; I had a tough time coming up with the answer. He's a guy that is very good in iso situations, can create his own shot, is highly efficient in the pick-and-roll game, and is a good defender against both guard positions. Most importantly, though, he is a 23-year-old kid that hasn't even scratched the surface as far as potential.

    My answer: Dwyane Wade.

He has a better 3-point shot, though; however, he isn't quite as strong of finisher. Wade's killer instinct has been proven, too. Harden, although he has shown flashes, isn't on the same level...yet.

    What does everyone else think?

I think the TMac comparison is actually really really good. He is not quite as talented as TMac, but he certainly makes up for this with actual love for the game.

There are not many guys like him who can be just as effective scorer as a playmaker. Guys like LBJ, prime Tmac and Wade come to mind in the modern era.
