I've been pretty consistent in wanting Derek Fisher as our PG, and I've been saying this since before we got Sura and Ward. And I still want him. But because of his salary, we would have to swap Rafer for him, and I know that won't happen. Too bad.

So if our total player salary is about $65 mill with Bogans, Hayes, and our two draft picks, can we afford a "significant" F.A.?

Mate, Howard is a solid Power Forward in today's NBA.

sure his 31 and 7 pissed me off today against Denver where we won the worst victory in franchise history- but it goes 2 show you he can really step his game up a notch.

are you old enough to remember him being a good foil for Ming and McGrady during last years run. As mentioned in a prior post there is little doubt with him on the floor we woulda got by Dallas.

No, he is not ideal but he is the best we have for now and the forseeable future.

The truth is if we don't get a 7th pick or up, there is even NO talented guys with character issues. There is no home school kid like Amare either.

No, it shows you that he is good at inflating his stats in garbage games on garbage teams, just like he's done his whole career.

No, there is plenty of doubt. Rox lost because they couldn't match up with the athleticism of the Mavs small ball. Juwan would not have helped with that.

That's debatable. Even if he was "the best", he's only marginally better than the 3rd string pf, an undersized undrafted free agent rookie.

Cat is not a FA, he just signed a deal with the Clips last year.

We only have the MLE to sign FAs and part of that is going to VSpan. Everybody needs to ratchet down their choices in this thread for guys like Q-Woods that we may be able to sign for < 4M.

A good solution for the rockets would be to trade for both darius miles and zack randolph. i read on realgm that both want out of portland. If we can pull off the that trade, it would solve our PF and SG problems.

Those 2 guys have awful contracts. We would go straight to cap hell after picking those two up. I would maybe consider Miles if they took Howard. I don't want any part of Randolph. He is a very selfish player.

Didnt many NBA analys say this on TV?

Look JHO isnt Brand, or Amare, but he does have some game. He is obviously on the decline side of his career. He fooled people 10 years ago to get that fat contract, but not anybody could fool people into believing he is worth 100 mil.
Having said that, I think Howard is a backup who should only play 15 minute a game.
