Calvin is a hard act to follow. If you guys have heard color commentators in other local markets you'd know that Clyde isn't that far off.

What, no love for "The Jet"? :D

I know it's not practical, but are most of the other choices either?

I love Rudy but if he were the color commentator his legacy would be obliterated by his delivery, lack of content, and poor usage.

Never overestimate the golden throat of a champion!

This is blasphemous, but maybe, just maybe, the pool of talented, available commentators would get just a tad bigger if we didn't narrow it down to former Rockets.

I agree that we would probably have better commentators if we didn't select soley from a list of ex-Rockets, but blasphemous? Overstate much?

    BTW, I picked Rudy T.

Yeah, that came out pretty catty, didn't it? Oops.

That was really more a comment about the Rockets organization than our own speculation -- feels like they're always trying to get a name that we recognize, as opposed to a guy who would do a great job. I love my former Rockets, but I'd be cool if they brought in some informative, articulate, entertaining dude I've never heard of.

That being said... I'd do cartwheels if they brought in Rudy T!

I voted Carl Herrara. He would be huge for our Spanish audience.

Yeah, the Drexler pick really smacks of that. I actually like Bullard somewhat. I think he could definitely grow into a great commentator.

    I wouldn't. I'd hurt myself. :)

part of me wants Ralph Sampson.
Ironicly he needs a job to pay off his child support. I feel bad for him.
Les would probably not want him for that. Ralph doesn't have the $$ to pay for it. Help Ralph!

    None

This poll sucks. You're asking us to compare Clyde with people that have no broadcast experience.

I personally think Clyde will get better and would choose him over anyone in your poll.

dude you ANSWERED your own question.

Clyde has no experience broadcasting. Neither do these other dudes.
    Give the scenario,
    1. calvin is not coming back
    2. barkley is not welcomed by jvg
    3. kenny has a job in tnt
    4. there's only 10 spots for the poll

this poll is comparing apples to apples.
if you created a poll we would have this dude as a choice:

why dont you create a poll on why my polls are better than your polls?
