Watching the men's final this morning for the French Open reminded me of why I enjoy watching highly competitive men's tennis, so much. There is a poetry in motion in watching Federer and Nadal going back and forth. Well, as the match was going on, NBC was having commercials for the Belmont Stakes and the US Open (for golf). So, which do you enjoy/follow more: the Triple Crown for horse racing, the Grand Slam for tennis (men's only), or the Grand Slam for golf (men's only)?

Triple Crown - Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes, and Preakness
Grand Slam for Men's Tennis - Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, US Open
Grand Slam for Men's Golf - The Masters, US Open, British Open, PGA Championship

I went with tennis as I have never really been able to get into watching golf although I have enjoyed playing it (it is one of those sports, IMO, that is better off playing than watching). I only get into the Triple Crown when there is a horse that is a can't miss to win all 3 races or a horse that has already won the first 2 legs of it.

Horse racing, especially with Derby is not the easiest of the three to follow, unless you are a die-hard horse race bettor.

Golf and tennis both have superstar players who you can follow on a yearly basis. Golf is just way too slow and boring for my taste.

    And anyway women's tennis >>>>>>>>>> women's golf.

None with any regularity, but my parents were heavy into tennis back in the late '80s early '90s, so all those random names bump around my head like Edberg, Lendl and Goranivanisevic. I remember when Universal Soldier put a beatin' on Zena Garrison.

Horse racing is a sport of the idle rich these days, the triple crown will never regain the popularity it once had.

As much as I'm indifferent about all three sports, tennis is the interesting to me because of the skimpy clothing.

I see you have taken a liking to Nadal's tight fitting capri pants that he has to dig out of his ass before every serve.

    Golf
    Tennis

Tennis used to be first, but lessened interest has coincided with the suckage of US tennis players.

I really don't pay much attention to the Australian Open but I usually try to watch at least the finals of the other 3 majors.

Part of the problem (probably the main problem, IMO) is that when the final for the Australian Open comes on, it is on like at 2 in the morning, US time.

Follow tennis but men's tennis has never held my interest much. I do enjoy watching triple crown races every year.
