KG, the only thing closest to the Dream. Just call it the NightMare.

I would say that's pretty spot on.

    no one.

Hakeem was more agility, coordination, dexterity than anything else. His finesse as a big man and most especially as a center separates him from bigs past, present and future.

He also had football(soccer) roots which gave the advantage of being very agile on his feet and being ambidextrous foot wise. (Steve Nash is another soccer skilled baller with obvious footwork strengths.)

Yes he had power and athleticism, but he was not really overpowering or athletic.

He sometimes even looked like he moved slow but man when he bursts he's like lightning both on offense and defense.

Hakeem was just around 6'9" without shoes and 6'10" + fraction of inch with shoes.

NBA players get listed on their height with shoes, rounded up generously to the nearest inch, sometimes even more.

LeBron is probably the closest though. Anthony Davis doesn't strike me as agile or that coordinated. Josh Smith is not that coordinated, he may have some of the agility though. Ibaka no finesse, poorer coordination.

Does anyone think Durant could really benefit from a few lessons with The Dream? Durant with Olajuwon post moves = beast

You'd have to combine Kobe's offense, Howard's shot blocking, Faried's hustle, and [insert a 2 guard who can slide his feet and get steals here].

None of the bigs have the grace, mobility, balance and quickness Hakeem possessed to come even close to comparison.

Ibaka reminds me of more of Shawn Kemp without Kemp's loose goosey nature.

Amar'e pre injury? I don't think he could do something like this:

    <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OamoIIT2yn8?hl=en_US&amp;version=3"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OamoIIT2yn8?hl=en_US&amp;version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

Again, a lot of these guys just have length and explosion going up, along with strength. To be on Dream's level, they also need great lateral movement and change of direction. Dream's pivot moves were a sign of great mobility, which most bigs dont have now.

I'm not sure. An overlooked aspect of Hakeem's game was how strong his base was and he got in great position because the weaker defenders could not move him. Durant does not have that kind of strength.

Lebron actually comes or at least looks the closest.

I'd say a few of the African nationality players, like Serge Ibaka, Emeka Okafor, Bismack Biyombo, (Malick Badiane lols JK). Of course guys like Mutombo, Hasheem Thabeet or Ike Diogu and don't have Hakeem's build. Just easier comparisons even if its "stereotypical".

Amare is a good comparison. And yeah, Lebron isnt too far off.

Was gonna say younger Dwight Howard pre-muscle/roids but he's more like a bulkier right handed David Robinson, all length and bounce

KG when he was the Big Ticket in Minnesota. Lowpost moves n can block shots pretty good.
