McFailed experiment. First this guy persuades the Rockets to draft Royce White, now this. Time to let him go!
He's the hero that Houston deserved but not the one hero it needs right now. So we'll hunt him because he can take it because he is not our hero. He's a watchful guardian, a watchful protector, a red knight!
Relax, McHale is just waiting for Larry Bird to come and save him like he did with the Celtics. I have never been a fan of running teams, it always fails in the playoffs because the defenses clamp down i.e. Phoenix. The only team it works for is Miami but that's because anything works when you have Lebron. I like McHale, he has the relationship thing going with the players like Phil Jackson. The strategy part, not so much.
54 wins. Asik sulking half the season. Terrence Jones essentially rookie 4. A starting PG that doesn't average 1 assist a quarter. Am I the only one that didn't expect this season to be magical? I didn't expect a first round exit, but if the new commish sees that Hack-a-player probably bought a team a win and makes a new rule, I'm ecstatic. I don't want to live and die with Dwights FT shooting for foulsmwhen he doesn't have the ball. You know Pop would have used it next round.
Except this time it's failing because the team isn't running. I don't know if the style of play the Rockets played this year can ultimately win a title or not. What I do know is that these two games haven't contributed to the debate because the Rockets haven't played that way. They've gone into the post more than they usually do to feed Dwight, they aren't attacking the basket nearly as much as they usually do, they aren't getting transition opportunities like they usually do, Harden has turned into a jump shooter...
After seeing his name being mentioned by a few on this board, I would like to toss in a suggestion of getting arguably the greatest pick and roll head coach in Jerry Sloan to Houston. He would tear Harden a new one and would put Dwight in the best defensive situations for success. He would also run the pick and roll to death. Jerry Sloan brings accountability, defense, offense, and discipline that this team desperately needs.
There are a lot of really good young coaches in the league. Budenholzer from Atlanta is a standout to me. The Rockets need a coach who can quickly assess whether James Harden has it in him to be a real star, challenge him and be willing to diminish his role where the circumstances warrant.
Do you guys see Tom Thibodeau leaving Chicago ? ive heard rumors of him not getting along with front office. I would love him as a Coach, or as other have expressed SVG would be my ideal replacement.
