You can't be a fan of the NBA if you hate black people. Even the Celtics have black people now.

Maxwell is hated by those who hate him because he was nowhere to be found at a crucial time in his team's run for a championship. After that (actually even before that), he was just worthless as a human being (see link provided above).

How can you cheer a guy saying you cheer for him because you love the team he played for, yet continue to cheer him after he absolutely dissed your team by not being a team player (and that's putting it mildly)? The true fan is the one that says "if you nearly cost my favorite team a title, then you've lost me as a fan". What Maxwell did was traitorous.

kenny, sam, mario continue to give vernon his props. vernon called sam, kenny give props on national tv, sam gives props on national tv.
who cares if some dudes on the internet thought that vernon betrayed the rockets. surely if they hated him they wouldnt talk so kindly of him.

who are you god? jesus? mohammed? are you a perfect person? you have any relationship problems?

did max kill anyone? no. did he beat some people up, yes. so? does he make mistakes? yes. is he extremely emotional yes?
    is he human?

    yes

Come on, baby, dry your eyes
    Wipe your tears
Never like to see you cry
Wont you please forgive me ?

I wouldnt ever try to hurt you
I just needed someone to hold me
To fill the void while you were gone
To fill this space of emptiness

    Im only human
Of flesh and blood Im made
    Human
    Born to make mistakes
    [IMG]
So many nights I longed to hold you
So many times I looked and saw your face
Nothing could change the way I feel
No-one else could ever take your place

    Im only human
Of flesh and blood Im made
    Human
    Born to make mistakes

    I am just a man

    Please forgive me

The tears I cry arent tears of pain
Theyre only to hide my guilt and shame
I forgive you now I ask the same of you
While we were apart I was human too

    Im only human
Of flesh and blood Im made
    I am just a man
    Human
    Born to make mistakes

Calling people child molesters, claiming racism against Maxwell, and dissing Drexler ~ just to try and win a nonexistent argument about MadMax that YOU started in a thread about the Clippers.

    Pathetic.

im not dissing drexler, he has his faults too and he had issues with his teammates, yet you guys dont treat him like the devil.

yeah i said maxwell, i'll put maxwell in any thread cause he started this clutch cit y thing.

i'm glad you actually replied cheetah. im still waiting for your new pic.

yeah people are the internet could be molestors and racists. im just trying to understand your hate . many players left the rockets unhappy, and many players left without love from their teammates, but max continues to be hated like Malcolm X, and Ali.

there's no schtick, you guys preach hate and you'll get a blasted by the power of love. people who hate vernon to this day proves that there's something deeply wrong in their hearts.

scottie pippen dissed barkley after barkley took less money to play here, and then he left, not even a year later, plus we paid him the max.

vernon had many memorable seasons with the rockets, plus his teammates loved him, plus he helped us win championship. plus he was great guy, for the people who actually met him.

people are attacking him for his personal life. go ahead, you perfect people, kick a man for his mistakes even though he made you guys the happiest kids on the block when the Rockets won. what did you give us? nothing but hate.

Post one quote of mine where I showed hate towards Vernon Maxwell.

I am a bigger fan of Max than you will ever be. I respect and love his play, but I also understand his failings ~ something that is beyond your limited grasp.

I am also a bigger Rockets fan than you will ever be ~ a true Rockets fan would never diss Houston legend Clyde Drexler nor would a true fan diss fellow diehard Rocket fans like you have time and time again in this thread.

Tinmav I wouldn't be surprised at all if you were posting this same diehard fan nonsense on the Mavericks board.

    king laker,

you'll never dream of being a bigger rockets fan than me.

Clyde got criticism for his horrible TV color commentary. That was by pretty much all of us Rocket fans.

You're jealous that i've been to rocket parties, talked to heroes like dream and otis.
you're jealous that im more creative than you.

I started this posting pictures thing and being witty and informative at the same time.

it was documented that Clyde didnt get along with barkley. i'm bringing the point that some people on the team get a free pass and some don't like maxwell.

you cant come up with anything creative, anything that proves you are a real fan, and worst of all. you just repeat yourself by putting the same lazy picture of 'tinman' as your reply. lazy.

if you guys write 5 million negative posts about maxwell, i'll counter with 15 million positives. i'll make you guys look like david robinson vs the dream every single freaking time.

Mad Max was traded to the Rockets for cash and overcame adversity his whole life and even battled anemia and was still able to become one of the creators of Clutch City...He brought this city and all of us so much joy and happiness and put the Rockets in a position to win multiple championships and all you guys can do is harp on the negatives...you can do that with any player or any person for that matter, but, as we do with all other players from the championship era, we should focus on the positives:

Stick to the mavericks board tinmav a true Houston fan never disses his fellow diehard Rockets brothers and god forbid a legend like Glyde Drexler.

I was at game 6 vs. the Knicks - while you were in your bedroom hanging up another mavericks "Three J" poster.

And you're right tinmav -- I am KingLaker --> tinmav owned again

I think Cat was clearly the worst starter by far. Yes, kaman was worse, but he was bad to start with.

I guess one thing is clear that Phil Jackson is a much superior coach than M. Dunleavy, considering the talent level between the Clippers and the Lakers, and how each of them vs. the Suns.

I like Vernon Maxwell. I appreciate what he brought to the Rockets. Tinman obviously does too.

But, Tinman, it is silly to pretend like the guy didn't have faults. He crapped on our team. He quit on them.

Maxwell as a backup was actually playing more minutes than he did as a starter. When it looked like the Rockets weren't going to get out of the first round, he didn't stick with them until the end.

What is even worse about it, is that you try to make Maxwell look good by making Drexler look bad. You brought up some supposed fight with Barkley. Of course that was just bickering, and Maxwell and Herrera actually came to blows a number of times. But the thing is that when Maxwell was injured on the court, Herrera cradeled him in his arms and carried him off the court. There was still a bond there.

When Charles had his scrape for throwing a guy through the window. Guess which Rocket was there with him? Clyde Drexler. Obviously the beef wasn't too bad.

A true Rocket fan doesn't need to make Vernon look good by making Clyde look bad. They were both great Rockets, and both helped our team win championships. One of them also quit on the team. Maxwell's bad deed, doesn't change the fact that he had many good deeds for the Rockets.

It seems like you have trouble accepting that, and are perhaps insecure regarding your appreciation with Maxwell. It is like if you actually came to terms with the fact that Vernon did something bad, it would crush your appreciation.

    Franchise,
i know Max wasn't perfect. neither was clyde ,dream, rudy etc.
thats my point with clyde. he left the rockets, i wasnt mad at him then, im not mad at him now. if you watch the rockets, you know that max was a volatile character, full of pride. that is his greatest gift and his greatest curse. according to max, clyde didnt deserve to start in front of him, thats his point of view. if you had a job and someone replaced you and you got moved to the 'bench' then you wouldnt like it either. granted any other rocket would gladly move to the bench for clyde, but we're talking about Vernon... MAD MAX. for people who are still hating on max, im here to defend him from your hate. your hate will be fought til the end of time.

Wow, timan has thrown this thread completely off topic. Maybe if people start ignoring him he'll STFU?

I voted Cat. Kaman was out of his element trying to guard Diaw and Thomas. Can't really blame him.

    deadlybulb,

like vernon, i tend to bring out the fire in the rocket nation!
    back to the topic

I vote Cat, i was very hard on Cat and even saying Juwan deserves his #3.
Especially against the Suns, where he could do all the Cuttino quick shots, hoist as many jumpers as he wanted. however, he played under par, so i blame him.
Sam played the best he could for his age and back. still plays better than jason kidd!
Kaman fumbled many passes, but i give him a pass because of his bad shoulder. and he was out of his element, Diaw is a bad matchup.
Still the Clips played well enough to have won the series.
The Rockets this season, were the worst matchup. We were getting creamed by 50pts on TNT with the whole nation watching.
We need to fix our athleticism quickly!!
