Meeesa thinks you being mean..........meesa......no like mean people. Honestly, that was very well played. DD
All the regulars, except (of course) for basso, have decided to try a little humor in here whenever we get the chance.
I believe organized religion can still at least attempt to keep on track with its core teachings rather than implementing their own rituals and bending the rules.
Every religion bends the rules when they write down their beliefs, they all borrow from previous religions, and create their own stories from older beliefs. All of the current faiths did that, Christianity, Judiasm, Muslim, they all borrowed some of their stuff from previous religions. There is nothing all that new about any religion, it has all been said before, and most of them last a few centuries and die off, it will be interesting to see if that happens to the current religions. Will they go the way of the Greeks, Mayans, Aztecs, Romans, Summarians, Babylonians, etc..etc..etc..etc..etc.. DD
The 3 basic truths of religion: Protestants do not recognize the Pope as the head of the Christian Church Jews do not recognize Jesus as the Messiah Baptists do not recognize each other at the strip club
No it can't because, IMO, the core teachings of the major religions all show that organized groups of humans will bring human error into the equation. IMO, by definition, organized religion goes against my religion. Why does religion need to be organized?
Borrow? Islam is, according to its teachings, the final edition of God's religions. I'm sure you're aware of the connection between Judaism and Christianity as well. How "borrowing" fits into that is beyond me. If you mean carry on a tradition, then yeah that makes sense.
