Can't believe I didn't mention Roy Tarpley or Michael Ray Richardson.

Probably not worthy of an honorable mention, but on a personal level, I hated that the career of Mahmoud Abdul Rauf (Chris Jackson) was clipped short. Quickest release I have ever seen.

Too may fans calling him soft, and if he sat out that series the criticism would have blown up. Plus he needed to get rid of that first round stigma. Sound familiar?

But yes, the guy was sick...... 21 ppg 9 rpg and 7 apg averages in some seasons. Maybe he could have averaged a triple double, who knows.

Yeah, almost forgot Tarpley. That guy had tons of potential. Another drug casualty.

Petrovic is a good call too. One of the greatest shooters of all time.

Only 1 player has ever been successfully robbed from the game.

    Penny Hardaway... coulda shoulda woulda.

Back when he was on top the man was devastating. Top 10 HOF material guaranteed. Ahead of his time, he was the prototype for players like Kobe, Tracy and LBJ. Just watch the way they play and compare it to tapes of Penny from 1995. Why did freakin Joe Dumars have to kick Penny in the back of the knee??

Hill also. Lightning fast 1st step and very well-rounded. He was starting to get his jumper down when his ankle broke.

Also, don't forget about Larry Johnson - back injury.
Yao Ming - tibial plateau injury first started when he was about to take MVP form. Then came the foot injuries.

i am just going to put players I've witness personally play

drazen -sure he wasnt like crazy all nba guy but he was fun to watch and one of the first euro players who came over I remember being in shocked when I read about what happened in the paper

penny --this guy was the next magic, big PG who saw the floor, shoot , drive i mean he was just amazing out there on the court

webber -- he had a lot of great years but that injury killed him, if he didnt get injury I really thought the kings could have made it to the finals and won a ring...his injury is what destroyed what could have been an amazing kings run for 5-6 years

    and for me the biggest

Grant Hill --i loved this guy, my favorite non-rockets player during the mid to late 90s. I was hoping the team would somehow get Hill I mean he was a walking triple double and he did it soo effortlessly. His best years were taken away from him in Orlando..its great to see him out there in phoenix playing well but not the same player he once was.

i still think webber as the most gifted pf to ever play the game. maybe the guy could've worked a bit harder, but even with the way it went at the kings, they should've advanced to the finals that year and win a title. the refs blew it away in the lakers series.

Webber was certainly one of the most talented PFs of all time. But he is also mentally weak. I still remember how everybody except Bibby of that Kings team panicked during crunch time of the last game. Webber as their best player should be the one who demand the ball and take control of the team. Yet, he whittled and was visibly afraid to shoot. That just reminded me of how he panicked in his last college game and called a timeout that they didn't have.

Webber seemed to have a tendency to melt down under pressure.

can't say i disagree. i think most talented and smart guys tend to be a little lazy and mentally weak.
