I use firefox - chrome is definitely faster, but there is something about it that makes me not use it full time. I like FF4 a lot so far -- when is a new version of chrome coming out (or has it already)?
Chrome on my PC at work and Firefox on my Macbook at home. I don't mind using Safari on my Mac either, but usually use FF. I just realized that Chrome is now available on Mac too, so I might give it a try. BTW, Safari is available on PC.
Here it is for chromium browser, which is basically the same thing as Chrome I think. http://ulyssesonline.com/2009/11/02/install-google-chrome-on-ubuntu-9-10/
I know people say that mac computers/laptops can't get viruses... so does that also apply to apple programs? Like if I were to use Safari on my windows, will that block viruses from penetrating my machine when I surf the interwebs?
Firefox with extensions like Adblock Plus, NoScript, Camel Camel Camel (Amazon price history archives), and Read It Later. Been using it since '05 when it was 'underground' and much, much better than IE. Chrome is a solid alternative. However, I found the Chrome speed advantage to be hyped, and the functionality and safety - and 1 sec slower web-page loading - that Firefox provides with its extensions is unparalleled for me.
I have used Chrome for general browsing and firefox for forum surfing. Chrome has always had trouble with vBulletin software. The new firefox4 seems to have greatly enhanced its performance. General websurfing has always been about the same for both, but Chrome has always handled things like flash and such much better until FF4.
Firefox for casual surfing and the addons. IE8 for school (java seems to work better) and work. Safari on the iPhone seems to work better than any 3rd party iOS browsers I've tried. The lack of toolbar in chrome drives me nuts. And it's not close to being as addin friendly as ff.
switched from IE to Firefox when IE started crashing a lot...and from Firefox to Chrome when Firefox seemed to get very slow. I'm happy enough with Chrome. Interestingly: Here are the stats from Wiki... http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...are.svg/220px-Web_browser_usage_share.svg.png IE - 44% Firefox - 29% Chrome - 14% with lots of variation amongst regions. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_web_browsers Seems this BBS has a Tunisian flavour. The Yao contingent are reading on IE.
Chrome for personal browsing, IE for testing out corporate sites (I'm a web admin.) IE 9 has taken a lot of my favorite Chrome features finally, so it's not as much of a pain to use as it had been previously. I quit using Firefox years ago because it was such a resource hog.
So here I was writing a raving first impression of FF4 (got it yesterday) but then I realized it messed up with every browser, now I can't view most sites (glad I can come here but I can't access any support sites) can anybody help me? this is what I get:
Chrome. I used to use firefox, but chrome loaded so much faster. I haven't looked back since. I will admit I was impressed by IE9. On my phone I too use dolphin hd.
I use Firefox. For my phone... I've heard a lot of good things about Dolphin HD, but I sticked to my stock browser... Is Dolphin HD that good?
Firefox for Android sucks IMO, hogs up too much resources and no adobe flash support. Dolphin HD is phenomenal. I will NEVER go back to stock. It's free and customizable. you should definitely give it a try.
No. Viruses are tailored for operating systems. You're still prone to getting a Windows virus on a Windows machine no matter what browser you use.
Primarily Chrome on both my Windows 7 machine and my MacBook. Will use Safari or IE8 from time to time if Chrome is freaking out about something (or if there's compatibility issues). Will test both new Firefox and IE9 and see if I like them enough to switch.
