I know there's no way we get him, but I'd love to have Emeka Okafor. Okafor isn't big but the dude is a defensive beast who can also score. Put him alongside Yao and Houston would have the toughest defensive frontcourt in the league.

I also think Kendrik Perkins of the Celtics would be a great PF/C complement to Yao. The guy may not be the most likable athlete, but I really like his toughness and defensive presence.

Either of these guys would give us a frontcourt that would dominate the paint in the playoffs. Combine that with the offense of Brooks/Martin and Houston would be a favorite to win it all.

I don't think a million "No Homo"s and "PAUSE"s will nullify the homoerotic connotation of that statement.

Can never get enough of these threads.

Seriously, I would love to see the Rockets get Okafor next season, but that is a pipe dream since he is playing for a divisional rival. Acquiring Lee is real, since New York will put all its marbles in signing LeBron, or will he opt in? :p

Though, I think Lee would be a fall back plan if we can't land Bosh...or Landry. :(

Unless you see these guys taking a mid level exception the Rockets aren't getting any of these players. With the McGrady trade now the Rockets are over the salary cap mean they can't go after anyone.

Hence why we acquire these players through a sign and trade. Besides, Morey is full of surprises.

Would love to get Lee for his leaping ability, hustle, and sweet left hand-jumper.

Amare, Bosh, or Lee(esp him) aren't know for there D. None of their teams are good defensive teams. So I wonder why some people on here always decides to bash on Amare and his 'lack' of defense.

If I could choose. I would choice someone that's a "power" type player like Landry use to be for us, not another finesse player to add to the line-up cause we have those. Best guy that I think fit's that mole is Amare. He tries to dunk everything like Landry when he was here and down in the stretch we can use that type of player that can get very high percentage shots. I think someone with Amare's game would actually compliment Yao's. That's probably one reason why I think Daryl was trying to get him before the deadline.

I agree on Okafer & Perkins as a plan B. My 1st choice is Bosh, but I don't think we have a chance at him. I think Scola is just as good as Lee. Amare is a "I ain't gonna play D"/"What's in it for me" guy. Plan C would be Camby or Miller for the short term to allow Hill, Armstrong & 2010 pick to develope

New Orleans is NOT sending Okafor...unless they are rebuilding and sending out CP3. Boston is NOT sending Perkins....unless they are rebuilding. We've got our Okafor/Perkins, but only better. That is Yao.

What we need at the 4 is a guy that can shoot from distance, run like a gazelle, and play some post defense and move over to center to spell Yao for a few minutes in a true speed second team unit.

That describes three guys that I know of:
    1. Chris Bosh
    2. Amare
    3. Anthony Randolph

We need that 3rd guy to combine with Yao and Scola that will give you 30 minutes of high productivity at the big man spots. That is your 3 man rotation. If we trade Scola to acquire him, we are still going to need another big or 2 bigs that can give us 30 minutes per game. We've got Hayes. He is our low post defensive presence. When Hayes is backing up Yao in the post, we are fine at the 5. It is when Hayes has to start and he has no backup that we are in trouble. Defensively, we have been in trouble all season because Hayes has NO HELP in the post when either Scola or Landry was out there. And then when Scola and Landry were running together, our paint defense was non-existent.

If you watch Amare when he gets in the post season, he is a diffferent defensive player. He competes and challenges big time. It's during the regular season that he ...... around. Am I advocating Amare? No, I'd much rather have BOSH. He's the ultimate fit. And if we can't get Bosh, I'd much rather make a play for Randolph. But if all we could get was Amare, a combination of Brooks/Martin/SF/Yao/Amare would be d-e-a-d-l-y undefensible.

Bosh - I think he will opt out of returning because the Raptors are going nowhere but he will want his 30 mill. He will be recruited to play along side Yao (with Chinese endorsements) and Kevin. I think we have enought trade pieces and pick sweateners to make it happen and still have a good enough team to be a contender.

Amare = most underrated/hated player on CF.
If you read these threads your brain pushes him to the tmac side of hate.

Jefferson does defend. He may not draw alot of fouls and thats partly because he's a 70% sometime free throw shooter, but he rebounds, defends,a hard worker, shot blocker, strong and tough. Throw in he's 25 and probably would play even better on a better team.

I do not know whether Morey will be able to pull off a "dream" trade / signing this offseason...

However, I will always trust him to do the best signing / trade / action for the Rockets at all times :)

To be fair, there's is a difference between SG and PF.

That said, the hate on Lee is absolutely ridiculous. It's like people just assume that because he plays on a horrible Knicks team coached by no-defense D'Antoni, that he must suck on defense.

Here's some breaking news for you, folks. David Lee plays CENTER for the Knicks. That's right, CENTER. How do you expect Lee to match up against opposing centers every night? Do you expect Carl Landry to play good defense as a center? Heck, Chuck Hayes can't even play the center position well on defense.

There is basically zero chance Lee comes to the Rockets, so I know it's a moot point. But I think he's a perfect complement for Yao. I put him lower than Bosh because I feel Bosh can perform well regardless of who plays center. Plus Bosh can play center himself with a bruiser PF alongside him. But Lee I feel would fit more with Yao(or any traditional center) than the trendy smaller/mobile centers in today's NBA.

Shouldn't it be fellatiate? or is it fellate? either way... I think you need to raise your standards a bit higher than David Lee. :) Bosh is acceptable.

Is everyone forgetting about Scola as a pf?? He was a beast last year against the lakers for us and when Yao out in game 3 Scola stepped up (and has this season too) and provided a low post threat for us not a Yao type but its def there. I agree his defense could be a little better but he was one of the main reasons we got as far as we did last year
