It's weird that they drafted two rookies at that position, but since they appear to be preparing to lose him after this year, he would probably be available at the deadline.
I'd take Miller over these guys as the asking prices will be steep to pay for a back-up. Okafor is not bad he can play the 4 and 5 and if Collison is available its better to find a back up PG and PF if we lose Scola and Lowry. I know West was available too and can replace Scola's production.
Yea i forgot about those 2 rookies i'd imagine that Dalembert and 1 of them would be a very nice addition, but i'd imagine one of our picks would have to go too. Since we are going youung, might as well stay on the same tracks.
...and easily the biggest, longest contract... His contract is fine for a starter, for a backup, not so much.
If healthy it has to be Biedrins or Chandler. they both can come off the Bench or Compliment Yao. Both can Block and Board although Chandler may be slightly more athletic. Biedrins was hurt a lot last season but when healthy and not in Don Nelson dog hose was pretty productive. Neither can shoot free throws but Biedrins is horrific.
I'd take Samuel Dalembert. He can rebound and play D. Very serviceable backup. Who I wouldn't take (at this point) at the 5 --> J. Hill.
^ agreed we need someone better than hill, especially with Yao's probable limited court time i hope we can get chandler but it seems like toronto is the favorite to get him... http://thestar.blogs.com/raptors/2010/07/its-all-one-deal-and-its-bye-bye-turk-and-jose.html
Not sure if this is a good or bad thing. We know BC and Morey are friends. Maybe he will flip him to us.
I think morey should get brad miller in a one year contract and get a young center in the draft next year
Not a done deal yet. The ESPN article doesn't mention Calderon or Chandler. It could just be Barbosa, Jones, Turkuglu, Childress, and Diaw in the trades. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5372405
Sounds like the situation is "fluid". Here is the Toronto Star's column on it. http://thestar.blogs.com/raptors/2010/07/its-all-one-deal-and-its-bye-bye-turk-and-jose.html
Finally a trustworthy source. Twitter @SpearsNBAYahoo Tyson Chandler confirms to Y! Sports he was traded to the Toronto Raptors. Too bad, I would have liked to have seen the Rockets get him. Guess that also means Calderon is on the move back to Bobcats.
We should make a move with the Bobcats for G.Wallace and offer up Battier/Hill/pick. He is a Laker killer and would bring back some heart to this team. Then turn around and try to make a deal with Orlando for Gortat with Jeffries and Budinger. Budinger replaces Barnes and Jeffries salary dump/trade asset.
