Which Astros are you excited about?

    Im excited about the draft. the astros will have a top ten pick along with a top pick in every subsequent round.

    pence, bourne, towels

    we already know what berkman and roy are going to give us. trade the rest of the team for all i care. 0-2 and i've fallen off the wagon :eek:

    I beleive they have 5 picks in the top ~100 or so. This draft will be huge, and it's shaping up to be a very, very good one talent-wise.

    Except for players that I watched with local high school and college ball, I can't really get worked up about baseball drafts. From the perspective of the fan, they are total crapshoots.

    And there's no instant gratification like in the nba & nfl, you have to wait 3-4 years to have much of a clue as to what you got.

    You're right it not nearly as exciting as having a top nba pick for example, but it is kind of fun to be able to follow guys in the minor for 3-4 years. Especially when the parent team is struggling. Anyways, many of the successful top picks of recent years, upton, miller, weeks, linecum, etc, only took 1-2 years to graduate to the majors.

    How about Bourn and Towles? They may be even better than Bourne and Towels.
