I like these ideas. There's a lot of great stuff for Les and CD to chew on. I hope they're reading this. While we're at it, here's another:

PG: Jesus -- great leader, unselfish. will distribute the ball. not looking for a big contract, a bargain if we can sign him. team spokesman. cons: some say that he's too timid and will have a tough time adjusting to the physical style of the NBA.

SG: Superman -- unproven jumpshot, but extraordinary
athleticism and leaping ability. lightning quick on his help-defense.

SF: Teen Wolf -- rusty, hasn't played since the mid-eighties. will need some work in the weight room. in his prime, though, could play all 5 positions and surf on a moving car. can moonlight as team mascot. (this saves money, Les!) will likely emerge as the fan favorite.

PF: Chewbacca -- tough, physical inside presence. tremendous shot-blocking skills, astonishing rebounder with surprising lateral speed. not a scorer. possible friction with Teen Wolf.

C: God --- it all starts with the big Guy. we'll work the inside-out offense; I like to call it the "Big Bang." makes His teammates better. ability to stop time, score at will, morph the Rocket's basket into an eight-foot bucket. knows the opposing team's play before the coach draws it up. cons: moody. has a track record of deserting his teammates in times of need.

6th man: Moochie Norris. just to make the games competitive.

Coach: Alexander the Great. Still unfamiliar with the Xs and Os, but you can't question the man's tactical brilliance or his will to win. Could have trouble massaging the team's egos, might rely on his point-guard for extra locker-room leadership.

This one's got to be the worst team. Even that freak team with

    pg - mugsy bogues
    sg - spud web
    sf - earl boykins
    pf - mantu bol
    C - yao ming

can beat this team. Magic is a fat dude and cannot run any more. We all saw Jordan a couple of years ago. We cannot expect him to be any better since he is two years older. Bird has a bad back and won't stand a chance on the court. Wilt is a skeleton if you want to dig him out of his grave. Duncan will have to hold Wilt's bones and cannot compete ...

I would like to see a team like this:

    Kidd, Bryant, Duncan, Garnett, Shaq

It cracks me up all the people who picked four great offensive weapons and then partnered them up with Steve Francis at the point. Those teams would still suck.

I remember there was a John Williams who played in NBA before. Can you make either him or Jerome Williams play the 3 so all five of your starters would be J___ Williams? :)

How about a true all-Houston team

    T.J. Ford
    Rashad Lewis
    George Williams
    Alton Ford
    Ansu Sesay (sp?)

    Best Rockets ever:

    PG: Cassell
    SG: Murphy
    SF: Drexler
    PF: Sampson
    C: Hakeem

    Current Rockets (best lineup):

    PG: Francis
    SG: JJ
    SF: Nachbar
    PF: Taylor
    C: Yao

    Bench: Mobley, Cato, MJ

    or...

    PG: Mark Jackson
    SG: Francis
    SF: Nachbar
    PF: Taylor
    C: Yao

    Bench: Mobley, Cato, JJ

P.S. We still need a PF replacement for EG.

if i'm just picking any 5, then i pick the 5 best players in the nba:

    kobe
    tmac
    garnett
    duncan
    shaq

kobe and tmac rack up enough assists to let them split pg duties.

SM, it's a little disappointing you let Pole get the first steve francis shot in. you must be slipping.

Pole, bravo for making sure the hate is in every thread.
