sorry that is my fault i put words into your mouth. i am being sincere here . i just thought you were meaning a young mutombo-like player and since badiane is a young player. and a young mutombo with better offense is a 1st ballot hall of famer. also, there has been nothing to indicate the coaches think he will be a mutombo like player. that seemed to be more your words than the words of coaches. if anything they are hoping for him to be a younger bo outlaw type player. ok calm down with the conspiracies. like i said there are people who are realists and have seen what badiane has presented with his game. there are others who think that he will develop into something much much better than he has shown. just because he has great physical talent doesn't mean he will turn into anything.
Those are truly MY conclusions based on the following information. He was drafted as a PF but has been moved to center (both in Germany and the Summer League) and the reports that coaches ask him to concentrate on rebounds and defense. Instead of comparing him to Motumbo himself I probably should have just said the back up center position currently filled by Motumbo. I don't believe Bo Outlaw played center since he left UH, but I would be tickled pink if Badiane turns up as good as Bo. I have no conspiracy theory. By faction, and that may be improper use of the word, I mean't a group of the same people who again and again have negative comments about Badiane and are quick to post them to any thread concerning him. SOS everytime. And I like to keep it real. Badiane has marvelous physical tools, but had very little basketball exposure when he got drafted. It takes awhile for anyone and especially big men to come around. It is just as real to think he may turn out well as it is to think he won't turn out well at this point. Our coaching staff has obviously not given up on him, why should should the people on this board give up.
