Jocksniffer, have your mom check the dipstick that you stuck down the back of your diaper. Judging from your contributions in this forum, I'd guess you'd be over the full mark about now.
dipsticks mommas and diapers all in one post... I give. You win... I am no match for your wit... But whither am I strayed? I need not raise Trophies to thee from other men's dispraise; Nor is thy fame on lesser ruins built; Nor needs thy juster title the foul guilt Of Eastern kings, who, to secure their reign, Must have their brothers, sons, and kindred slain.
Seriously! I've really never understood the facination with any pick above 10. We've had our share of good ones, Horry, Cassell, Murphy, Mobley, etc., but chances are much better you'll end up with a Boki, Connor Henry, Band-Aid Man, The Blade, B. Drew, John Turner, etc. I'm sure there are better examples out there as I haven't done any research - just memory.
I don't know yet, and according the the team president he doesn't know yet either. It would seem to make sense. DD
I wonder why no one ever mentions Kyle Hill or Venson Hamilton? The Rocks still hold their rights. I suspect they are still getting ready out there somewhere to make a splash in camp.
Just that, mystique! BadMan was drafted at 19 years old with freakish physical stature, and rare athleticism, but his basketball skill was undeveloped. It takes time to develope basket ball skills to match those first two characteristics. Now he is 21 and the same people that saw something special in him then are hoping there is still something special. The coaches have their own agenda for him. IMO they are hoping for another Motumbo type player with better "O" and a big "D". That may be why they asked him to focus on defense and rebounding in the summer league. Some people took that to mean he has no offense, but I won't say that yet. It would be nice if the Rockets would give us a thorough scouting report and evaluation on him, but they won't so we are left ot discuss it amongst ourselves. I would personally like to see him get out of Europe because they do not put a premium on defense which seems to not work in Badiane's favor. If it would be possible to get him into the NBDL I would love it, but again we'll see. I would like it even more if he could spend a year or two getting tutored by Motumbo before he leaves. There are people that are pro-Badiane and there are people that are anti-Badiane. The threads are generally started by the pro-Badiane faction about some aspect of his status and attacked by the anti-Badiane faction. Like someone said the subject is at least as meritorious as discussing JVG's new hairstyle.
I think - Venson was the Hamilton we drafted, Zendon is a Hamilton we invited to camp, and Thomas was the Hamilton we cut after a blow up with Rudy. Venson was also Big XII Player of the Year his senior season, I always thought Mihm deserved it that year though.
I read he was specifically asked to concentrate on D and rebounding. I think we have enough offensive players not to ask Badman to take ill advised shots, although I do want to see him make the squad someday, I think the chances are getting slimmer and slimmer with all the players like "Baxter" who killed the summer leagues not being able to make the squad.
Baxter is a marginal NBA player and he was the best player in that particular league. That in itself says something about Badiane......
so basically they are looking for a marginal hall of famer? well i guess mutombo with better O would be a hall of famer. lol are you joking? there is no anti-badiane "faction". there are people who are being realistic though.
If you are going to be sarcastic, at least read the post correctly. The post indicated that the coaches were looking for a Motumbo 'type' player. In other words, a player of good defense to come off the bench and spell Yao Ming. I nowhere indicated that they are looking for Badiane to be a 'hall of famer', that is a ridiculous conclusion to jump to. If you have been following the Badiane posts for the last 6 months you would know exactly who I am talking about. If you choose to become one of them, there is plenty of room.
The only things Badiane and Mutombo have in common is that they are both tall and are both from Africa.
