"well, I'm not even able to watch the game, just lurking a little for info, but a scratched eyeball? If you get a layer scraped off your cornea by someone's fingernail like I did playing basketball, it hurts like hell... I couldn't even open my OTHER eye for 2 days, the sympathetic muscle movement it caused in my bad eye hurt too much... not saying Stro's not a wuss, cuz I suspect he might be to some extent..." - Burlesk Yeah after i read that i kinda changed my mind about what you jsut said.
When did he get that? it seems that we worked too hard in practice! I thought he's been totally fine during the last game, then he turned out to be ... It is weired and unacceptable if he get hurted in practice. We have to think about why we have so many injuries, it cannot just be explained by unluckiness. Good things, every one performed well except two rookies, but I don't bash them since they are in the learning process.
I drove to work today with a scratched cornea. It was ****ing hell concentrating on not to crash. The pain subsided, but my right eye is blurry right now. It's doable, but not for a bball game.
A "scratched eyeball", corneal abrasion, is a very painful injury. It also causes blurred vision which make it impossible to play basketball. The good thing about the injury is that it heals fast -within 24 hours.
I gave my mom a scrathced eyeball once when I was a kid. We were playing driveway basketball and I over enthusiastically went to swat her shot Deke style and instead missed the ball and got her in the eye. Unsurprisingly I got yelled at by my Dad, my mom went to the hospital and I never made the NBA. Just thought I'd share!
I got my eye scratched once -- I was walking by a pine tree and had pushed back a branch, and when it flew forward the branch hit my face, and a needle hit me in the eye. I'll never forget the pain that it was, trying to make it through like that. I was like 13, so I didn't have to drive or anything, but I could hardly open it, and it was constantly watering. It was a terrible, terrible experience. The next day, it was a LOT better, and it was all healed pretty quickly, but damn, it hurt like a mother. I suspect Stro might be sort of "fragile", but I don't begrudge him sitting out for this injury. That **** hurts!
Doesn't Stro wear contac lenses? I've had a scratched cornea, more than once, and it's a mother. Like others have said, they heal quickly. We're just having amazingly bad luck. And Tracy was playing too many minutes. (yes, I know he may have had this happen to him anyway, but it was as stupid as Okafor coming off an ankle injury and playing without it taped. He did, he hurt it, and I wish it had happened earlier in the game, dammit, as long as it's not serious)
