And the reason we shouldn't invite Green to camp is..... That's right, there isn't one. Are people suggesting we DON'T invite Green to camp so a spot can be used by an even worse UNDRAFTED NCAA player who has virtually 0% chance of making the team?!! I'm not ready to say that Green will be good, but he's played in the league, 22 minutes a game!, and played pretty well. He's young and has many chances to improve. The summer league is not a guaranteed contract! Maybe Green just needs new coaching or teammates. You have to admit that he didn't see much playing time as a Rocket before, why not give him some time in the summer and see what he can do?
I'm not one of those dreamers that think it's a guarantee he'll ever "get it" but if he signs cheap we would be stupid to not bring him in for another look. If somebody can correct his mindset and light a fire under this kid i'd love to be the team that reaps that reward. He's got the age and upside of a lottery pick. He can play both wing positions -- hell, last year we didn't even have a backup 2/3 most of the season. Definitely a realistic option if somebody can convince him to work hard.
This is exactly the type of team that can do that to Green. So far, he's only been apart of bad lottery teams. Never been with a winner. Now, he'd join a team that wins and is filled with quality veterans. All of it will have a positive impact on Green.
Everyone is saying that Green's numbers were pretty good in Boston. Do you realize that that Boston team was probably as bad as an NBA team could possibly get. I would put that Boston team on par with an NCAA tournament team. Why did Green get so many minutes? Well you couldn't really do worse playing him there. The T-Wolves, were pretty bad too and he didn't get much playing time there. Rockets even less. I'm not saying he is a complete waste. There is huge upside potential with the guy. I'm just saying that the overall trend isn't good.
Well, he was never brought to Houston to be a big part of the team. They wanted to use to rest of the season to evaluate Green and see if hes worth signing in the summer. He wasn't going to get much playing time anyways and he mentioned that in his press conference. Yao gets hurt so they had to cut him and get a big man.
We need more players like this. Not settling for jumpers, attacking the rim and finishing strong. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/uyPMRR2zwiU&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/uyPMRR2zwiU&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
I think they should let him start some preseason games and see how he fairs with the starters, assuming he's signed. But you're right, his resume history doesn't look to great. All that athleticism at that height...you'd have to say that his lack of PT is because of attitude or mental issues. Should have went to college to pick something up mentally. By the way poprocks, did Popavich really say that about Scola?
wow, cmon... that's ONE play, and take a look at what time in the game it happened and what the score was............
you could say that about anyone who plays well on a crappy team. MJ, Kobe, Paul Pierce, etc. There have been players who looked on bad teams who were good players and some were bad players. You have to look at the skills and he has them.
He'll be dropped or be traded as a filler before the end of the of season if he signs with the rockets. Just takes too much roster space. one too much.

"AND HE WILL NOT STOP...UNTIL IT IS HIS AGAIN" ...is this talking about an NBA roster spot or his dunk championship. I'm pretty sure you gotta have one before the other.
Okay I'm one of those people that overate players. I though Malick would be good, V-Span and Green. Watched Green in high school, the Mcdonalds game and the NBA. He has a very good three point shot, he is a adequate ball handler but handles aren't as good as Tmac. He does put in work in the off season the guy is at Fonde for every game. Just played piss poor talent in high school, and I hate when people say this guy is dumb. Just young needs time. In two years could compete for Battier job he is actually a better shooter.
Fool must have nothing to do.. I took a pic with him at UT's business school graduation 2 weekends ago. No one recognized him. Maybe he just wanted to see what it felt like to graduate college.
Or maybe he just might be there for a friend or family perhaps? Also, did you ask him about anything basketball related?
