sweden, awesome mountains, Steve Peat, high standard of living, nice girls what else can you ask for.
By far Sweden! Brazil is a nice country, but it's a poverty stricken country. It would be very difficult to make a good living there....Plus the crime rate is too high there. Sweden is everything I want a country to have--including generous welfare and health care benefits, and the economy and the standard of living is very high. Taxes and unemployment are somewhat high there, but it is possible to find a good job there. Major corporations in Sweden include Saab, Volvo, and Ikea. Plus, the people are nice and friendly and the streets are clean with very little crime
Lets Compare Brazil Warm climate Hot women from what I hear Sweden Cold as hell Hot women that are taller than men in the US
One emerging problem with Sweden is that it's currently getting overrun by outsiders who are looking to leech off the government's free handouts. The country's generosity is coming back to bite them in the azz. They're changing the face of the country, in a bad way in my opinion.
Are they getting browner? Anyways, watch the World Cup in a month or so and you will know why Brazil gets the edge over Sweden.
One of my fondest memories of World Cup 94, was a Sweden-Cameroon match I went to and Martin Dahlin was playing. At that time he was one of my favorite footballers. His American nickname is "O.J." Google his image if you want to know why.
Oh I am a soccer aficionado...I already know why http://www.mingel.se/bilder/{CD9E9DD7-40D2-4608-89B6-BB40DBF53D76}_4.jpg
I actually know quite a few Swedes who's families have quit their jobs (mainly at Ericsson) to move to other parts of the world... #1 reason was taxes. And yes, I too have had a couple of Swedish gf's.
They move away to other places because they can make more money PLUS still get the benefits of being a Swede. It's like the best of both worlds. Ask them where they will be when it is retirement time. I guarantee it will be Sweden because they know that they will still be taken care of. I think a lot of people know very little about Sweden. I know I didn't know **** until I was with my girlfriend. Except for the cold I can't imagine it being too bad. Their citizens live a pretty care free life. I'm getting to go there for the first time this summer and I'm very excited. As far as Brazil goes, I'm not down with lots of crime and poverty. I don't care how hot the women are.
Let's not forget the all-important aspect of home-grown metal. Brazil: vs. Sweden: (Dimmu Borgir) I have to give the edge to Brazil in the battle of most-noted metal bands. Sweden would have had a better chance had I picked Meshuggah to represent them.
Sweden's taxes are not that much higher than the USA's taxes. When you include things like, sales tax, property tax, income tax, state income tax, health care costs, etc..etc..etc... DD
I can't stand cold weather and I have a blond fettish. For me, the answer is easy. Live in Brasile with a 5'9+" Swedish babe.
I guess there's a hate it or love it relationship in a socialist economy. You know someone who loves it. I used to go to an international school that was dominated by Europeans, mainly Swedes. Opportunities for jobs with multinational corporations are limited because the taxes are cutting into their profits, even Swedish based companies like Volvo and Ericcson are moving overseas. Of course Swedes will want to retire in Sweden, but at that age you have a completely different set of needs and ambitions than the 18-25 demographic (which is what I assumed most of us are). If you don't mind me asking, what is your girlfriend's dads line of work? Sweden's tax to GDP ratio (2004): 50.7% USA's tax to GDP ratio (2004): 25.4% Source: http://www.oecd.org/dataoecd/18/23/35471773.pdf Not sure which is the best statistic to assess the difference in actual taxes between the US (adding all those items you mentioned) and Sweden, but this seemed relevant to me.
Ronny, If I am not mistaken, when you add all the hidden taxes for the USA, it comes out to about a 50% tax rate. DD
This is what I think. Brazil-don’t really know too much about this country, other than that they do have beautiful women (number 1 country in the world when it comes to plastic surgery, maybe they are born with 2 noses and 16 eyes?! ). I’m sure that Brazil can offer much more than a bunch of women (like granite for example ), but since I’m a girl myself I don’t see me moving there just for watching beautiful women. Now, Sweden on the other hand (sorry, you know I have to defend my homeland ) Beautiful women (most of the time without any plastic surgery involved, so you know you can start a family with a Swede without risking having a kid with 2 noses and 16 eyes ). When it comes to the infamous discussion regarding TAXES, well what can I say to defend that? Let me try to explain how the “normal Swede” might feel about this. By “normal” I am not talking about the big corporation owners (Ericsson, Volvo, Saab, IKEA etc) I am talking about the average Joe, just like me and you. The average person with a wife and kids, the normal young adult just wanting to party and have a good time..Get it?! We have something called “lagom” in Sweden (this means “just enough”). Most people are perfectly happy living a “Lagom” life and to be just happy. I know that this seem extremely odd and foreign to people living in this country, since most of the American people were taught not to settle and always strive for bigger and better, more money, larger house, newer car, more clothes, more diamonds, more, more, more, more. I am not trying to trash the way that you grew up , I am just trying to make you understand that most Swedes are absolutely perfectly happy with having just enough and paying that 50% in taxes. WHY are we Ok with it? It gives us a worry free life and we know that no matter what, we will always, always be taken care of. I think that most Americans automatically say NO when they hear that Swedes pay over 50% in taxes. Now, what do we (the Swedes) get for this money? I am not going to bore you with the complete list of the Swedish benefit system,(I’m sure you can Google it and get thousands of links in under a second) but I am 99% sure that when it comes down to it, we are paying LESS than what most people are paying here. I have to say that it’s not ALL about the money. I would much rather pay a little bit more in taxes so that I can have a worry free life. Most Swedes are like hobbits, we are perfectly happy with the way things are, we live our life, raising families with a smile on our face. Most of us are very happy with the way things are, even with the 50% tax rate.
Being that I work in the Latin America region, I am biased towards Brazil...however....you don't have the whole "police vs gangs" warfare in Sweden. Reports from the Sao Paulo office: 100+ dead over the last three days....and counting. I doubt that many people are killed in Sweden in an entire year. Very sad stuff
