jeff.. you could never move.. no choice.. after getting onto the Rockets about thinking of moving, it would look pretty bad if you yourself moved
In a couple of years, after my stepson graduates from HS, my wife and I will be looking anywhere in Hawaii...preferrably Maui...but any island will do.
I moved to NYC 5 years ago, and it SUCKS. bigtexx is right on the money. My wife and I would prefer not to spend another minute here, but our lease expires in August (and then... we're gone). Seattle is awesome. Austin is awesome. Denver is pretty good. Houston is okay. If you're considering Denver, think about Colorado Springs, too.
it actually rains more in houston than it does in seattle. its just that you dont see the sun as much in seattle as you do in houston. Seattle ranks 44th among US cities for rainfall with an average yearly rainfall of 36.2 inches (92 cm). This compares to... 45 inches (114 cm) in Houston... http://www.see-seattle.com/weather.htm
Woohoo. Thanks. I was hoping somethinglike that might be the case. There really are a lot of dreary winter days in Houston, too - today being a good example so far.
Yeah but it just isn't quite the same. Several years ago I believe Seattle set their own record with something like 186 straight days without seeing the sun. I can't even imagine that. I know some people really love that though. No need for sunglasses
You'll love that Seattle traffic. I'd like to live somewhere that isn't a metropolis the size of the top 10-12 most populous cities in the US. Houston was ok. Dallas is ok. San Diego was great except for the cost of living in Cali. I don't know about Denver since I've never been, but it seems nice. I would never want to live in NY, Chicago, LA, Florida, etc.
Yep...it drizzles it's way to those 36 inches of rain. Doesn't bother me, but I met a few people there that were 'losing it' and ready to move. Still, not far from mountains and skiing, Olympic penninsula, San Juan Islands, Vancouver, Victoria, Portland ....
