Ikbal's Naan Chaap in Bombay. The ghettoest place in the entire universe. I mean there are flies roaming around, beggars sleeping on the floor, no lights, etc., etc. You people would faint just looking at the place. BUT HOT DAMN THE FOOD IS GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I havent had it for over 10 yrs now.
Ooh...ooh, I want to go! Why don't we plan a field trip? You can take me. You can pay for me. I can eat and look cool.
1) Billys Chicken Tikka in Karachi 2) Hungry Bunny in Kuwait 3) Spinzers in Karachi 4) Any shawarma place in Kuwait 5) Deek-Al-Romi in Kuwait ROckets03 ... you've just about described half the eating establishments in Karachi near or about Saddar. It's something to see ... you see sweaty guys kneading dough with bare feet, dripping sweat. Servers serving soup from a huge cooking pot after first, literally, removing a layer of flies from the top ... classic. Maybe thats why the food tastes so good! Can't wait ... this December, been more than 14 years *sigh*
lol...i just got back from Lahore, Pakistan last Saturday...this was my first time going to Pakistan in the last 14 years as well...
This little restaurant in Rome, whose name & location I don't know anymore. It was hidden away in middle of nowhere and it kicked ass. They basically fed you course after course of different pastas until you're just sick of food. I know we went through like 8 courses before we just said no more. It was yummy.
1. somewhere in Alaska for fresh salmon. 2. Baja California for some original fish tacos 3. The Pita Stand, in Gournes, Crete-Greece
While I'm certanly not the world's most knowledgable epicure, the best meals I've ever had in my life all involved fresh Salmon in Astoria, Oregon. That's where I'd go.
Tony Angelos in New Orleans. While certainly not in the same league as Commanders, Emerils, et. al., some of the best meals I have ever had were there.
