DMo before the back injury was better than Sengun

Had the passing ability, the footwork, and the 3pt shot

Career 30% 3pt and 60% FT shooter. Quite the marksman.

lol. No he did not. He had one spin move and he was an ok three point shooter. He was the best of a crappy PF rotation the Rockets had for most of the 2000s.

You and many others would want him out of the roster. Sengun had Dmo's best year as a 19yr old not 24.

It's also funny that he used passing ability and footwork as a relative negative for Sengun.

DMo would be a very nice off the bench option at both PF and Center - a better Landale, and someone that can play on dual bigs as he could hit a 3pt shot too.

His back was fine, that was all a negotiation ploy by Morey- who actually screwed him over pretty good....forcing him to sue the NBA then getting a settlement from them.

If we had prime Scola and Dmo to rotate with Sengun we could have the most unathletic front court in NBA history. Dream big.

    Hard to say

14-15 dmo was a starter on a second seeded rockets team before he got hurt.

And yes , sengun has a better trajectory due to being younger , but it's sad to say we missed out on the best dmo could offer if he had stayed healthy

His last year with us shooting 37 percent from 3

He was coming up in a transition era , GS hadn't happened yet (they were about to ) and the 3 point explosion followed.

He would have been a great piece for us from 2016-2019 and maybe could've helped us break through .

Right now , for us , it's hard to say how he would fit in . The NBA has changed so much . I do think it's arguable he could be better than sengun . He could be better than Jabari .

He also might not see a lick of PT . He would probably play most likely Jabari . Hit the board and shoot 3's . I don't think he's as fluid of a defender as Jabari

He played 30-something games with us the next year (don't remember how/when injury factored into it) and shot 28%

"DMo was as good as Sengun" is a helluva take. The best year of his career was his age 24 / third season in the league and even then he was a little behind Alpi's age 20 / second year in the league while averaging the same minutes per game. He never had a season that got close to all-star level, which is what Sengun is right now (a fringey all-star).

As for what DMo might have become if he'd stayed healthy--probably a pretty good backup center. Mo Wagner-esque

DMo's prime was almost as good as TJones' prime.

Terrence Jones prime is Jabari's rookie year... or Eddie Griffin's prime.
