Griffin would probably still go #1, although I definitely think Wall will end up being the bigger star and has more game-changing potential. You just might not realize it yet because up until this point Wall was just an NBA player trapped in the college game.

Griffin doesn't seem to have the same questionable maturity and work ethic as Beasley.

LOL at people over hyping Jordan Hill. He has shown some flashes of brillance since his trade here, but he hasn't proven he was worth the 8th pick.

I don't understand what people like about Cole Aldrich. I think he'll be out of the NBA before the end of his rookie contract. Stiffs that can rebound are a dime a dozen. He'll foul out constantly thinking he can block shots like he did in college.

Are you making that assumption because of this guy?

Griffin top-3. Injury might cause some concern. I can't say I have seen him play very much so I based this on what I have read about him.

Hill top-15. Only due to the amount of big men in this draft. His play late in the season has restored his value. He still has potential and as a added bonus, now we know what parts of his game translate to Nba level and also that he is not a headcase and has at least normal work ethic.

Budinger probably in 15-25 range. He has demonstrated that He can get his shot off and shoot at respectable percentage. He isn't quite the defensive liability (not very good either) and has at least enough potential left to be a starter some day on a good team.

His potential is what is worth the 8th pick. Before a player plays some minutes in a real Nba game and even some time after, everything is just educated guesses or talking out of your ass. He still has potential, we can't determine his potential very accurately even today, but we have seen he won't be a total bust and he won't be all-Nba first team either.

The amount of total busts taken with mid to late lottery picks is more significant than most people really realize.

I wish Hill had half of Blair's physicality and nastiness out there. I really hope Hill is a dedicated enough worker that also has a bit of a mean side to his game that he's yet to show. It would be nice to have a player like him that's capable of using his size, length and athleticism to become the above-the-rim presence around the basket this team is sorely lacking.

People do not remember that there were GMs saying that Griffin would have gone #1 in the 2008 draft (ahead of Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley, OJ Mayo, Russell Westbrook, Kevin Love). He was picked first in a pretty deep draft.

His basketball instincts, ideal PF size/strength/athleticism, rebounding ability, defense are really rare in NBA prospects. Who is the last prospect that advanced in those areas? I can't think of anybody since Duncan (not saying he will be as good as Duncan, just saying that advanced at that age).

It does depend on the team picking, if the team does not have PG set, they would take Wall, if not, they would take Griffin. If Griffin played college bball in 2010 and put up the exact same stats he put up in 2009, no way he goes outside the top 2.

Griffin would still be the 1st pick over John Wall.

It was my sig for quite some time: Griffin:HOF talent.

As posted already, no big man has come out of college with that advanced and complete a skillset since Tim Duncan. Add on a true nasty streak (penchant for punishing players and a certified dunkaholic) and you have the #1 pick in almost any non-Lebron draft.

College ball is the only comparable thing, in the US, to NBA skill.

I mean, why wouldn't you have taken Griffin over Wall, etc.

This. To be honest I'd take Griffin over Durant and Oden as well. Barring injury concerns, he's the one with the most upside besides LBJ.
