The basketball gods give Kobe a career-ending injury; in order to preserve Hakeem's spot as number 8 on the list.

Kbe needs 4699pts to pass Jordan, which can be achieved by playing 4 seasons/70 games with bit under 17ppg, he can definetely do that, if no career-ending injury happens.

Also, to people saying around 5. If he averages 20ppg in his next 100 games, he passes Nr. 5, so that's nothing. Simple mathmatics, 4699 to pass Jordan at Nr. 3, not that far either.

70 games each season multiplied with 4= 280
    17 ppg on that 280 games= 4760
    What is wrong?

I think he'll pass Jordan and fall just shy of Karl Malone.

Playoffs also, so...about 85-90 games a season. He only needs less than 2 and a half good seasons to pass up Jordan. He probably won't touch Malone though.

I'm sure Kobe's only goal for the rest of his career is one or two more rings and to pass Jordan in points. So I'll go with 3rd all time.

Kobe will surpass Jordan and finish 3rd in points. That's my prediction. He doesn't have enough left in the tank to surpass either Malone or Kareem.

However, total points don't matter Jack imo. The truly impressive stat is PPG over a career, and nobody, I mean, NOBODY is ever gonna catch Jordan's and Wilt's 30.1. Ever.

He gets around 1900-2000 ish points a season so not including playoffs so I think he could possibly finish 5th all time. Maybe even 4th, who knows.
