I don't know if Hill would have made a difference. Maybe we win with him, or maybe we get blown out with him. Maybe the result is the same. I'm just explaining why Adelman chose not to use him. His defense was no good in the first half.

The Rockets needed to defensive rebound better, but if you're screwing up in your rotations and allowing them to take wide open jump shots that won't help either. The Rockets also were stuck on 85 for 4 minutes. That's a team-wide problem -- especially a guard problem. Brooks is the closest thing this team has to a closer, and without him we're going to struggle to win if its not a blowout in our favor.

If Yao can't go, then probably Miller. Draw that shot-blocker away from the basket.

Right, and against young, fast Washington team in the first half Jordan HIll played very poorly. If he didn't look so lost out there, Adelman would have trusted him more for the second half.

I assume the OP wanted an explanation for why Hill didn't play, so I'm giving it.

He was setting on the bench, the whole game were getting out rebounded, instead we throw in 6'6 PF and play him as a center instead of 6'11 guy.

We are getting manhandled by the SF, PF, and Center spots (yes this includes Yao, all McGee did was front him and took him out the game).

    Shane/Bud < Thornton
Scola/Chuck < Blatche who was schooling Scola so bad they had to switch with Hill

Yao/Hill < McGee with no O was leaping over their heads

DM go get somebody with some offensive skills outside the paint area.

Blatche was scoring at will on Hill.

RA knows what he has, though it might be a somewhat vague understanding. He has a vision of where he's going with this team. He tries different things, partly to learn more clearly how to put the pieces together. At some point, what he has will converge with his vision.

I know it sounds nutty, but this isn't so unusual for creative people.
