Yea I saw that just wondering why it happened. I used to watch the links all last year. The backup link was working perfectly.
Well, last year we didn't have Howard. This is the HH era in Htown. Everything changes, I guess NBA is watching us. I bet this thread is bookmarked by Stern's interns.
Well, I didn't expect as many people as there were. I think the lack of feeds for this being a preseason game really overloaded the video server it was being hosted on and caused the lag. Another thing is, the link apparently was passed on to places like Reddit, Twitter, etc. There weren't too many issues with it until it reached around 2K, I may need to find a solution to limit the number of people such as a password-only approach for Clutchfans.
It was posted on facebook as well by a group called https://www.facebook.com/HoustonTexansHoustonRocketsEverything Password sounds good. The link was working fine until it started lagging.
You idiots need to stop spreading it everywhere on the internet. This should be a Clutchfans exclusive stream. The free high quality streams always go down eventually because ungrateful big mouths can't help themselves, *sigh*.
Password protection of some sort would be a great idea. You'd have to avoid posting it in the forums, but there may be a good way to do it. I noticed that the stream started stuttering and stopping right around 1900 viewers. When it was fewer people than that, it worked just fine.
yeah, you aren't going to be able to sustain this. Rockets2K and I learned that with Yao. Your link is going to hit 50-250K viewers once the season starts. You're going to need a bigger boat...or a cfnet only solution. But then you'll have to do it based on unique IPs. Passwords will be shared, too.
They may be shared, but they'll be much more difficult to share. Has anyone used the 'social groups' function on clutchfans? Something like that may help - then, ItsMyFault can form a group and only invite those people who have been here for awhile/have been part of the site. Something like that may work without all the IP hassle.
Awesome stream last night like everyone said problem came around 1900 viewers but I found a back up link that worked just fine till about 5 or 3 minutes left in the 4th but it was fine I saw enough. Hell ya to a password protection!
So for the 6AM games any idea? Some kind of group email list? Something easy to manage that you just send the new link to an email list 15 minutes before game? I would say pay a fee of some sort but then I think that makes it more illegal? any thoughts on this aspect? Another issue is no one posts it to reddit or facebook! Seriously are you that lame that you have to post it to reddit so it can become a 1900 user lag and curse people out fest? The alternate link worked fine once it was posted. The trolls were funny too but that stream last night overall is not a viable option going forward with that many people. There was even a fake pryuen..good times.
