I'm staying in Austin in the winter break. Yes, it is like a desert town, many people were gone. But my hometown is faraway (Hong Kong) and so I'm staying here for the winter. Anyway, I want to know where you guys go to watch rockets games? It's better to watch Rox games with more people.
Dave and Busters on 183 is close to where i live to. I wonder if you told them to show the game if they would do it on a big screen.
yes you need to be 21 to get into a bar normally, but at showplace they only card you if you are buying a beer. and no you don't have to buy anything. just have a seat in front of one of the tvs showing the game. i'm starting to make a habit of going to showplace for the games.
If ALL of you gathered at one place together and asked to watch a Rockets game, I bet they would switch the channel.
anybody up for the knicks game on friday? Yes, you can get every game at Aussies but you usually have to ask.
Showplace sounds like a winner! I like not having to purchase anything. Where is it located? I think I've seen it somewhere around Rundberg on I35. If that is in fact it, are there any other locations? Thanks. Great thread for us Austin folks.
Showplace Take I 35 North Take Braker exit Take Uturn at Braker Showplace lanes is on frontage of I 35 South. Aussies Take Congress going south turn right on Barton Springs. It will be on your right before riverside.
Does anyone know of a place in far NW Austin, specifically in the 620/183 area but not quite Cedar Park?
Shortcut to Showplace, save you 2 miles. Exit at Braker lane, you need to make a huge U-turn. Exit at Rundberg, turn left you'll see Motel 6, turn right on a small street right next to it. Showplace lane is right there.
I'm in Austin and I'd love to go watch the games at a bar but working at Dell kind of puts my weekdays out of reach. Weekend games at Aussies sounds like fun though.
I'll be at Aussies tonight for the game vs. the Knicks. I'm wearing a grey pullover and brown hair for those of you that I haven't met yet.
I watched the Knick game at ShowPalace. Not bad. No pressure to buy anything, although i did indulge in a beer (needed it for that disgusting performance). Came out smelling like a cigarette and there was no audio for the game. I'll try Aussie's next time.
Were you there in the non smoking section? I came in that part for about 5 minutes and saw a few people with the calloused fingertips of experienced bbsers, but then I realized that there was a smoking section. I was the young guy in the red jacket.
Were you on the opposite side of the room from the window by yourself or were you with somebody in the middle drinking a pitcher of something? One of the guys at the middle table let out a "What the f***?!?" simultaneously to mine when Kelvin Cato missed that wide open alley oop from Moochie in the second quarter.
