I apologize, but asking what district is good, and just choosing based on the entire district's reputation (whether good or bad) doesn't mean ALL the schools are bad or good for your kids. You could be "in the 'hood" and even in there, have a great school. Such is the case where Mrs. SwoLy used to teach (changed schools now, but that's a totally different story): the school was in one of the low-income areas of the metro area, and the kids all behaved, the teachers loved it, and it was in HISD. No one would believe you if you told them this, but I saw it first hand. My point is, don't go by the district. Find out the history of the school, if it was commended, exemplary, or what not... but also figure out how the neighborhood is. Good luck, sir.
Nice, but wrong state. I must admit though, next time I'm in Montgomery, Alabama I WILL hit that that flea market. How could I not, after seeing that ad?
I Should state my budge is 200-250K and I work rotation so location for work doesn't matter since I just drive to airport once a month
Well that throws you out of the 77024 zip code... But you can try for 77079 zip code but these are the only 5 options you have based off of HAR.com. Based off the links below I would only do the second one because it is zoned to Stratford, the rest are fleetwood neighborhoods and they're zoned to Katy Taylor. http://search.har.com/engine/715-Trademark-Place-Houston-TX-77079_HAR92672984.htm http://search.har.com/engine/767-Carlingford-Houston-TX-77079_HAR53468442.htm http://search.har.com/engine/734-Trademark-Pl-Houston-TX-77079_HAR46227094.htm http://search.har.com/engine/417-Fair-Harbor-Houston-TX-77079_HAR1002640.htm http://search.har.com/engine/904-Fleetwood-Place-Dr-Houston-TX-77079_HAR2822424.htm
While not as nice as 77079, 77077 area is good and cheaper. Just stay off of Briar Forest and preferably away from Briar forest and Wilcrest intersection. I used to live there and I loved it. Now I live in 77095 and it is suburban hell. Westside is a good high school. The houses have on average have a lot more personality than something cookie cutter in most suburbs. And Terry Hershey Park, in my opinion, is the best damn park in the city, especially for jogging or biking. The only difficult part will be finding a good sized lot (which I think is 9000sqft+) they exist in your price range, but can be a challenge to get. The next best bet is probably Katy, fits a lot of what you are looking for, but just not as interesting.
I've heard Tomball, TX is nice and it's still building new subdivisions. As far as the school goes, not sure how good Tomball I.S.D is.
