pgabriel, I can guaran-darn-tee you that Sage is next to Kubiak and Schaub when Matt calls a time out to talk things over and Young is not next to Collins on the same situations. I can also guarantee you that Vince is not on the sidelines or studying the game photos like Schaub does with Rosenfels. THAT'S WHAT I WANT HIM TO DO.
I guess, I should have said regular season games....you are right then...4-1....wouldn't the Texans like that kind of record from their starting QB. DD
If the Texans had the defense and coaching that the Titans have, I suspect their QBs may win 4 out of 5 as well.
so you got all of that watching one game? do you know that jeff fisher is a defensive coach, unlike kubiak. do you even know what the titans offensive coordinator looks like, do you know his name?
I think the Texans do have the defense, they have all those high picks...they just don't have the coaching on the defensive side of the ball to take advantage. It is astonishing that the Texans defense is not more dominant...they have the horses, just lack the attitude and play calling. DD
According to what you said earlier in this thread....well, I'll just quote you: So I guess the Titans 4-1 record with Vince is because of the greatness of Vince and his 1-2 TD/INT ratio, but their 10-0 record with Collins and his 2-1 TD/INT ratio is because of their defense and running game. Your bias is showing, DD.
Actually, the Texans had a QB who went 4-1 in games started in 2007. His name is Sage Rosenfels. He must be a stud, huh?
Does it matter if I even know his name? I am talking about being on the sidelines, learning from KC, watching how he runs the offense... for "learning" later... granted, I didn't see the entire game, but for most of the time I saw it, #10 or a "covered" #10 was nowhere around the sidelines... only in the back... doesn't that bother you? It bothers me if he would be in potential trade talks soon...
I think Vince could be doing the same things as Collins, but if it is not broken you don't fix it. I do think Vince is a better QB than Collins but why change it, they are 10-0, and I think Vince has some personality issues that need to be fixed by tough love, Fisher knows what he is doing. If the Titans trade him, or cut him...that will signify more to me than them benching him....I think they are trying to do to him what they did to McNair....humble him and then he comes back stronger. DD
I disagree. With McNair, did that work? Seriously, I don't remember because I don't keep up that much with the Fitans and it's been so long. Did it?
Absolutely, he played behind Chris Chandler for 3 years and eventually won the job. VY had success a little too early I think...both he and Lienert need to take notes of the aging veterans in front of them. DD
how do you know what vince young is watching during the game. your position is now that he isn't standing up close to the front. like i said, i saw him talking to simms and collins on the sideline in the monday night game, i saw him celebrating after a collins td yesterday, he was the first one to greet him when he got off the field. other than that, i don't really pay that much attention to the sideline and haven't seen many titan games to make the judgement either way and I doubt you have either.
The plan all along with McNair was for him to learn behind an established veteran. He actually only sat for two years (got a few starts the first 2 seasons) and became a full time starter his 3rd year. There was nothing for McNair to be "humbled" about and no need for him to "come back stronger". The feeling at the time was that he was a small school QB who needed more experience and football education.
