The deal with tvtorrents is that you don't have to seed back to 1:1 in order to have a good ratio (credits as they call it). Since you get credited for 1.5 times your upload when your torrent is done, you don't need to seed all the way. If you're worried about downloading big torrents, then get a client that lets you pick and choose what you want to download, such as utorrent, bitcomet, or azureus. Then grab it a little at a time and only download as much as you can handle at any one time. Also, you can grab a file from a public source (mininova, torrentz etc.) and while making sure it's the same file, just change the name to the same as the one on tvtorrents and then open up the torrent and start seeding. That'll help you boosts your credits.
anyone have any tips on how to get ratio up on demonoid and oink? i was planning on just d-loading albums and letting utorrent seed them. But like others have said to many other people have it which takes longer to get ratio up.
On demonoid and TvTorrents I would download 24 or Heroes as soon as it was posted and leave it on for couple of days. After a couple of weeks of that I had a pretty good buffer. I'm not sure what you can do now with all the big shows over with. As for Onik...I have no idea. Maybe hit some of the books or comics when they are first posted. I got lucky and joined shortly before the week of free downloading so it was easy to get my ratio up since it only counted the uploads. In Utorrent I set the global maximum upload rate at 30, global maximum download rate at 0 and check the alternate download rate when not downloading and have that set at 0. It seems to work real good for me. Edit: I forgot until I read m_cable's post but you can like he said download a file off another site and as long as it's the same file you can help seed it on Tvtorrents. Make sure it's the same size.
I don't know, but the only way to lose your invites is for you to invite someone who has been banned before or for that person to cheat. Vic was the first guy I invited months ago, so I don't think he was banned before.

if anyone has a demonoid invite or any movie torrent type site invite like tvtorrents i would much appreciate it. my roomate is starting to get in a torrent craze cuz he bought an oppo dvd player that plays anything. i have some tvtorrents invite if necessary to barter. Hey I got your message. To be honest, I haven't come across a good movie site yet. I've got invites to tv sites, and music sites but no movie sites. Usually if I need a movie torrent, I use a public torrent search engine like: http://www.torrentz.com You probably won't get as good a speed as a private site, but as long as you don't need it "right now" the speeds are usually fine. And I'm usually be able to find anything that isn't too obscure.
^Yeah, mininova, isohunt, and demonoid are good enough sites. I wouldn't share any of them for too long though because you can possibly get letters from your ISP on all three of them. W/ demonoid there's so many leechers, it's easy to get a good ratio, but there's no incentive to keep a good ratio. People recommend torrentleech, but I haven't checked it out enough.
my ratio is terrible on oink. No one ever uploads the stuff I download. I mean someone else out there has to want biggies greatest hits or some Adam Sandler stuff

Try downloading the new stuff as soon as it appears on oink. That one maroon 5 album improved my ratio dramatically.
