I keep reading news reports .. if you call propaganda news... that always says peaceful protesters... antifa... BLM... but when it is someone else they want to cast in a negative light it is always far right... or linked to the far right.

My question is why one group is labeled extreme while another never mentioned.

My second question is for posters here... who and what is far left to you?

“Antifa” is a bunch of middle class college-aged young adults protesting fascists using the fascists tactics. Without Donald Trump, Proud Boys, Boogaloo Boys, Unite the Right, Alt Right, etc. there is no Anti-fascism movement. This was not a thing during Bush and Obama. This wouldn’t be a thing under Pence, Cruz, Clinton, or Romney. It’s because Trump embraced the racists and fascist embracing evangelical populace under his brand when the Republicans typically did not. Until we get Biden and a competent Federal executive branch, things will remain broken and will take even more time to fix.

The biggest issue is conflating different groups not associated with Trump with the Democratic Party or liberalism. We have always had anarchists and violent political groups stirring up ****. But these groups want to overthrow the system and are the loudest both sides are the same types out there. The Soviet style communist accelerationists among these groups don’t care if Trump is president since they think it will speed up the inevitable collapse of capitalism and usher a communist golden age.

BLM is not far left. BLM means treating Black people as equals.

The problem with BLM is that it's a leaderless movement, so that creates a vacuum where you can put just about anything under that label and find a justification for it later.

For example, the closest thing BLM does have to leadership (the people who run the 'official' BLM website) are explicitly anti capitalist Marxists. They go so far as to claim that the concept of the nuclear family is anti-black white supremacy and that it must be dismantled.

BLM carries a lot of baggage with it beyond just the idea that black lives are undervalued. This is both a feature and a bug.

BLM is not an organization as far as I am concerned. It’s a rallying cry.

My question is why do you label any protestor or any person for that matter doing anything bad as "Antifa"?

Here I am! People might call me far left, even though that's just their own jargon. I call myself "halfway deprogrammed."
I think most Democrats are half conservative.
I think Antifa is a sock puppet group of skateboarders and white girls in ninja costumes.
I think the "Antifa" teenagers and the Bloated-Pig snowgunners are all psychologically adolescent morons-but-you-shouldnt-say-it-out-loud.

Since this is the thread for me, I'll just keep on saying stuff. . . .

Samuel Taylor Coleridge wrote "Slavery is the product of a bloated imagination."
America is the product of a bloated imagination,
an emaciated soul, endless thirst, cowering fear of mortality, and always
always masses of bodies to feed the meatgrinder to make the thing go.
Indians, Blacks, we f'ing white fools who think we are not the Indians and Blacks!
We are the same as the Indians and Blacks, not for MLK or some concept.
We are the stuff in the meatgrinder, a beast of another color.
The joke is on you: you are the same as the ones you are laughing at.

The problem with the label is the reality makes the label laughable.

My wife is a Bernie supporter who loves AOC, wants Medicare for all, and goes to marches. Dashuda would love nothing more than to think that she’s going to Portland on the weekends burning down courthouse all dressed in black, etc.

When the reality is she’s a blonde 39 year old teacher who shops at J Crew and is obsessed with shows like Below Deck.

Yes occasionally there is a tatted up kid who works at Freebirds joining in on a protest and they might have listened to RATM before the protest and get out of hand with a trash can fire, but other than that, the “far left” is pretty damn normal people.

But when the uniform of a Trump supporter is an AR15, a confederate flag, and a bullet proof vest, you certainly aren’t helping yourself with extremist labels. If Trump supporters want to help themselves with labels, maybe don’t dress up like your Chris Kyle on a roof top in Afghanistan.

You people call everyone, including Joe and Kamala, far left. That term has lost its meaning.

One white supremacist in one day in one black church killed more Americans than Antifa has in their entire existence.

To me, far left are people want a socialist country providing health care to everyone and everyone makes the same income. Basically remove the ideology that people can come to America and prosper if they work hard. They also want to get rid of oil/refining (without understanding all of the byproducts that come from oil/refining).

A far right is the good ole boy, roughneck with a huge wad of dip in his mouth using the N word with his other good ole boy friends wrapping chains around drilling pipe. They don’t ready give a **** about any wind energy or solar power and could care less about the 1% tax breaks. They also want all immigrants deported because they are stealing jobs in their mind.

These are just examples and I in no way support any of them. Most people, including myself, know people (or have been introduced at some point in there life) who are on the extreme side of both of these examples. Having said that, I think we can all agree a majority of sane people fall in the middle of these extremes and support a lot of things from both the left and right.

It would be nice if all of these parties could stop dick measuring and actually did some work to make America better for our children’s children.

I have no clue what this has to do with the question. Are you suggesting this person was far left?

It should be self evident why I'm repeating this. Hint: it has to do with misplaced properties in concern of threats based on wanting to speed a narrative

This is what we call "concern trolling".

There are like 6 "Antifa Twitter news feed" threads in the past couple of weeks.

It's the most obvious attempt at concern trolling.

There is no far left, and before Trump and FAUX there was no far right. I think what we are seeing is a manifestation of a foreign attack on social media. The way you can tell is there are no charismatic leaders, hierarchy or stated manifestos, just chaos. Things are just posted and organized on line without attribution. And each side gains momentum from every indecent.

But Trump is charismatic and in a position of leadership, so the right is much more cohesive. He promotes right leaning violence as a campaign strategy. The resemblance to Germany 1933 is starling but I don't really understand nationalism in a "great economy". In Germany at least there was a depression.

BLM is not the violent protesters, it's a civil disobedience movement, that's the American Way.

But just look at Roxran, there are excitable boys out there with a penchant for vilolence. And, false flags are a certainty so we can't just assume anything about any shooter till you identify him and look at his motivations.

I guess it's Trumps winning strategy because if violence is what he wants I assure you it's about to get a lot worse when the 'eye for an eye' kicks in.... probably next weekend.
