When Jamal Crawford went down for the Knicks, there were several games where Stevie scored 20+ points. Including a game winner against Washington. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IDWZM1kojiY&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IDWZM1kojiY&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Stated on pg. 7 "i refuse to address the franchise as SF3.. haters keep doubting stevie. just dont jump on the bandwagon when hes doing good" Love it!!!! Right on- I don't know if Stevie will come back to being the streetball wizard we once knew (which we could use a little more of in an off the bench role) but let's hope he can contribute ans stay healthy- we'll need him before this season is over- Crocketball Fan
francis was in street clothes yesterday sitting next to yao...idk if any of you caught that... Hopefully he is practicing to get healthy to play again
Steve's career TO's is 3.5 compared to Alston's 1.8. I think anyone who watched Steve as a Rocket would be well aware that he was a turnover machine. I just wish Francis will come back so all his hardcore fans can see how 'great' he is 10 years older, less athletic, and not a bit added to his game from his rookie year. I'm sure he'll have some flashes once in awhile if he does come back...just enough to keep people harpin on him. Strange how so many Rockets fans have manlove for this guy that other teams couldn't wait to get rid of. You don't see fans of these other teams infautated with the franchise. I guess we're just special...
The thing about Steve Francis is he could never handle the fact that the Rockets traded him to Orlando for McGrady. From the start, he felt betrayed by the Rockets. I believe his confidence was gone ever since the trade and wasn't really able to mentally recover. Basketball is as much a mental game as it is a physical game. Then he gets traded from Orlando to New York, one of the worse franchises in the leage ever since Ewing left. Maybe Francis feels like by not playing he his somehow sticking it to the rockets, but he should realize that he is only hurting himself. The rockets are looking like the sympathetic organization in this transaction by still keeping him on the roster, the team should really cut him at this point. We have Brooks now who I think can be a starter in the league at the very least a 6th man. GO ROCKETS!!! MY PREDICTION ROCKETS FINISH 3RD IN THE WEST!!!
I agree with this statement completely. As we saw last year, it seems like Yao will have injuries on and off as well. We can't afford to trade McGrady even though he does play like a lilttle girl sometimes but what other choice do we have. People need to seriously think about what they are saying...
Turnover machine because he was asked to do too much. He had to try to run the offense and be their go-to scorer. Half of those turnovers were bonehead mistakes and half were turnovers that came from him trying to create something. IF he makes the rotation, he isn't going to play with all that weight on his shoulders he had back then. Honestly, if our offense continues to look poor like this, I wouldn't be surprised if Rick gave Francis a chance. He is still one of the few rockets and I mean few, that can attack the basket and score, draw the foul or dish it back out. We could use all the easy buckets we can get.
Steve has shown that he is not effective unless he can dominate the ball(something he's definitely not doing here). If we're depending on an old Steve Francis to bail us out of this slump then my opinion of this team just went to the sh!ts.
Let's say Francis starts practicing again and feels good enough to play, who says RA is going to use him ? They've already made it clear they are not happy with him so my guess is, even if Francis can play they will try to include him in a deal. He's not going to be like he was and he's not effective without the ball so the only way he can remain on the team is to beat Brooks for PT at the pg spot. I don't see that happening anytime soon, so my guess is we will not see Francis in a Rockets uniform again. I would love to see it happen though but we have to be realistic about this and by just reading what Morey, RA and different writers of the Chronicle have stated, you can tell that even when he's able to play, he will not get any playing time (unless some1's injured maybe). Maybe they will keep him for the play-offs which I'm all for but again, don't see it happening.
Some of you make good points some of yall make bad points but the crazy thing about it is for the people who make bad comments about Francis its funny how they are always bringing up the past. Francis does this Francis does that he dribbles the shot clock out then throws up a shot. LOL thats funny considering that was the Francis of old. Who knows how he plays now. In the games that he did play last year i did not see him dribble the shot clock down to 4 then shoot. I did not see him turn over the ball alot. Peoples game do change. Who are we to say what Francis will do. We wont know until we actually see him.
Rest on the turnover argument... everytime Rafer shoots its a turnover... especially given his shot selection

Looks to me he still has the handle still has the first step even though he traveled a bit but that can be worked on. and at the end still has the hops and explosiveness. Somebody please tell me in what area is he declining?? I understand he wasn't playing against a nba player but still he still looks good moving. And if im not mistaken this is when he didn't even lose the weight yet. There is still hope!!!!!!
the video discription says 2004 but oh well that doesn't matter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=282qlYibN84 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=icuT1PJ43nw http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SlZA4vrUmWE&feature=related these were 1-2 seasons ago no way he cant do this anymore within 1 season its just not possible
Its funny how the last 2 were from LAST SEASON when HE WAS HURT. Like the commercial says impossible is nothing. Everyone that is doubting steve and bringing him down will soon go ooohhh and aaahhh again. People around the league said the same thing bout Grant Hill and him having 3 major ankle surgeries and look at the man now balling hard.. Steve is 1 year removed he can do it. If someone who is older came back from a far most serious injury why not Steve. Let the doubters keep doubting and the haters keep hating. Its only going 2 get better once the guy steps on the court. Lets see what you guys say then
aww that hug with marbury and francis makes me wants me want to get steph on this team. (sarcasm) what chemistry
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SD6vmI2zX1E&NR=1 cmon guys this is a totally different steve listen to what hes saying he even says he doesn't have to play like he used to hes matured a lot. Not playing was the one of the saddest times in his life besides his mom dying. He cares and is trying really hard and he even saved his box scores of his dnp's. I don't know how well he will fit with this rockets team so when hes healthy i have no idea whether he will play or not but you all will see this isn't the end of the franchise whether its playing for the rockets or not we will see steve contributing to an nba team again mark my words
