I agree with the Brooks statement. However, if Luther has found his way onto the floor (yet again) a healthy motivated Francis should be able to as well. That's not to say he will but if healthy he should.

Wow so i guess he really wasn't dedicated in the first place :( I really hope everything works out with him though. I want to see a healthy steve do something. Last year when he had that put back dunk but was waived off showed he still has something in the tank. Yet he was injured at the time.

I think Steve can come back and have a positive impact on this team. If he can show some of the old Stevie Franchise and set an example for Brooks and Alston to work towards then that would be worth the wait for his return. If its not possible to keep Francis, Brooks, and Alston, I'd rather have a Brooks and Francis rotation than Alston and Brooks.

I'm really looking forward to him coming back... BUT

It all depends on his present physical capabilities... in the past, the major upside was his ability to rebound the basketball, DRIVE, iso and D up on stronger point guards like Fisher/Marbury...

If these leg / knee injuries hamper his abilities.... IMO I don't think he should see many minutes unless in dire times. I'd rather see our other healthy options. Putting him out there for "heart" will embarrass him and our team!

He needs to take his REHAB seriously. If he is solid, RA knows he has some options off the bench that will give him Franchise time. We all know that he isn't a true point guard. He should come out on the wood with Barry, Landry, Hayes and Artest and cause a back court scoring havoc with an Artest option. Stevie can play D when he wants and get those boards, we all know that.

Where is SF3? On the bench, collecting a paycheck. Same place he has been the last few seasons.

I dont know if he can come back and really contribute a ton, but I think he can at least be a CHuck Hayes type of point guard which could be useful. He can make some layups, get rebounds, plays with a a ton of heart. I think just getting that out of him would be great

Francis is done. There's no place for him on this team even if healthy, cause von wafer is better than him and von wafer didn't get to play until the alston suspension. Francis on a 15 player depth chart is 16th. ;)

That was funny i know you didnt mean that. Von Wafer better than Steve Francis. hahhahaha. What has Von Wafer done in his career that makes him better than Stevie. If you dont like him cool but dont say things that doesnt even make sense

What has francis done lately that makes him better than any ymca player? That's the problem with francis lovers. They're all living in the past and watching past highlights of him instead of seeing him for what he is today, which is nothing more than a scrub.

I can not hold it any longer when I read you said Wafer is better than Francis. I wont' remind you what Steve Francis could do in the past, though I believe he can still recover to 80-90% of his old form, which would be scary. Even at the level he showed in the last season, he played better than the first 8 games that Rafer played this season. He can shoot better and he can draw a couple of fouls in the second team. If Rafer continues to be the worst shooting PG in the league, you will soon see Steve Francis (once he regained more of his condition). His handling is much better than Head, or Wafer who?
Wafer so far has been a good shooter, who could cut the minutes of Head, Barry, but he is not a PG.
Plus, never mention Wafer over Francis. Put them in the market, Francis could easily make 1-2 million in a lot of teams, while Wafer will struggle to find a job.

This is why yall Francis haters make me laugh. The guy was a year removed from playing ball. He missed ONE YEAR and everyone is saying he is done. What has francis done lately hmmm let me answer that lately i believe he won a crucial game for us against the suns while being HURT. Everyone is saying he lost it. I believe he had a put back dunk last year when he was HURT.

Im not a Francis lover but i do respect the guy and his game. I love his game i love ball and i will admit when there is talent in a player but for you to say Wafer is better than Francis is just plain crazy. What has Wafer done period to even make you say he is better than Francis.

Yeah back in the past Francis was a highlight waiting to happen but he was exciting 2 watch. Like i said before ONE YEAR removed from playing ball doesnt make him done. For all that Amare was done or matter fact since he is younger that shouldnt count cause i know thats what most people are going to say. So ima say for all that Grant Hill was done but look what happened to him. Kenyon Martin was done but he came back. Mcdyess was done but he overcame his injury. Dont rule out Francis yet.

Why so down on Francis? He wasn't great last season but who was at that point in the season? Leslie hasn't given up yet and neither have I. If he come back maybe mid season that would be great. Personally I would start him (depending how well he does first) instead of Rafer and continue to use Brooks as our sixth man.

if steve can get back on the court he can be very useful as a backup. he can still score, pass, and his defense isnt bad, specially his help d. he just needs to get healthy which is takin a long time.

rafer, brooks, and steve at the point is a tough matchup for the opponent guardin them.

Sure. I guess now that everytime one of our players get injured anyone could say.

"What has "Insert Injured Player" done lately that makes him better than any YMCA player? ... They're all living in the past and watching past highlights of him ... nothing more than a scrub."

So, I guess it was fair of us to put Yao in that place of "Insert Injured Player" this summer, since he has been injured and unable to play.

Now come on. I see what you are trying to say, but please don't be blinded by the fact that it is Francis and not any other player.

This is why I say the francis lovers are delusional. You think I'm saying it cause of his play last year? The guy has been done since his knicks days. Maybe one day you all will wake up and realize that fact.

i really hope stevie can come back by december. then we can let go of alston and head, get some picks or a young 7foot PF/C and sign deke back. we need deke badly.

with wafer's good preseason and season (only one game so far) performance, i admit that im having 2nd thoughts of letting him go. chuck's also doing great. so the only guys im willing to let go would be alston, head and dorsey.

his shooting actually got a lot better when he went to new york people just say he played bad in new york because he wasn't putting up 20+ anymore and never watched knicks games anyway but look at his percentage not bad at all and look at his minutes he could have still put up 20 if he wanted to and this was only two seasons ago, anyone who thinks francis is done is going to eat there words hes only been out for one year and he was playing hurt in new york and was still playing good now a fully healthy francis would be AWESOME
