If Francis returns to half the player he was, he wil not start. I think that he should be on the floor with the second unit, if he plays as well as we all hope. Brooks, Francis, Artest and Landry as part of the second unit. Our starters from last year have a great chemistry and I think Francis as part of the second unti will be better for the team.
there's a really good chance that he'll never be the player he was before, he relied on his hops the last go around, but this time with all the injuries and the time, he won't be the player he was before. i hope i'm wrong though.
He actually has some amazing dribbles and a decent pull up shot off the dribble. He actually went away from the high flying act in Houston and didn't bring it back until he went to Orlando with a chip on his shoulder. His problem here was just that his game wasn't one that would mesh well with Yao's as the other star. Now with three other stars on the team, I think if Steve can get some of his game back, he'd help a lot.
So what if he is not Look at the Pheonix Game from Last year Are you telling me that HE won't be at THAT LEVEL? Are you telling me that him at THAT LEVEL would not help us? Rocket River
FYI, that old, injured and out of shape PG plays 20 mpg and starts 3 games under Rick last season before breaking down again. His a player that Rick initially thinks will start. Ever since he came to training camp last season, rick have always shown patients in him, and did try to play him when SF3 is in reasonable shape. I cant see why a "healthy" SF3 cannot gain minutes when a lump of balls played some minutes last season. The only if is can he recover from his injury? If thats a yes, he will be playing.
I've had enough with the differential sized text to prove a point. You seem as stupid as those people who air quote or italicize words to accentuate a point. We all get it, you're r****ded. Jeez.
Francis is not fully healed, waiting patiently, Tmac is out for 3 weeks, Adelman may have lost trust in head, believe that SF3 can gain minutes.
that was one game. one game. don't get me wrong, i like the guy and what he can bring to the table if he was 100% healthy, but those chances are very slim. that's what i'm telling you.
Pizza_Da_Hut..........your a *****ing prick. if you had said this to me(in person), i wouldve seriously beat the ***** out of you. if you disagree with someone. you dont disrespect them by calling them stupid. are you frickin 12 years old. its crap like you that makes me hate posting on clutchfans cuz i kno youll be a damn critic of anything anyone says. you need to check yourself.

Ahaha... oh man, this really made my day too. Good job, Bucket. Anyhow, I really would love to see Stevie Franchise return to the floor; I think if he were healthy he'd at least be an upgrade over luther head. But when is he gonna get healthy? With Tracy out he could be getting some decent minutes with the 2nd unit-night in and night out. That's something I hope to see, but at this point I'm really wondering if we'll ever see Steve Francis again... Heh... see what I did there... with the "ever"?
Well the coaches and GM don't believe that Francis should start. As a matter of fact they haven't seen enough in practice for him to even sniff the court. If he's in shape (your words), younger, and his knee is not bothering him (your words) then whats the hold up. Is there a great conspiracy to keep him down? No. Is he in the coach's dog house? No. He's had 2 years to watch practice has he learned the offense? Are the other players in front of him better team players? Hmmmm? Look. I'm all for giving him a shot if he deserves it and if the coachs ever think he's an upgrade over those who are playing then he'll get his shot. I have great doubts myself though as do they and thats why he's riding the bench gathering DNP-CD's. I'd be willing to make a $20 tip jar bet that SF3 never starts another game for the Rockets... and another $20 bet that he never averages 15 points per game again for the rockets.
Of course this is the same coach who gave him all of the DNP-CDs last year until he came in and won that game at Phoenix for us. Also the same guy who didn't think Deke could contribute as a backup, and then watched him have to fill in admirably as the starter when Yao went down... I'm not saying Francis should start or is even ready, just that Adelman isn't infallible.
i'm not saying he's going to come in and start for Houston, but I have y'qall realize steve hasn't really ran or played ball in almost a year. He's not really in shape, BUT he did lose all that weight so he's not going to waste time trying to lose the excess pounds most injured players gain. He's not going to be able to do much right now, even in practice, because his conditioning and timing aren't there. Something as easy as dribbling may be off for him right now, let him get some more practice and conditioning in and then y'all can argue all you want about whether he'll see the court again or be a bust this year. Remember that not long ago some writers were pretty much saying he wouldn't even be back in uniform. They didn't believe he'd even be abler to practice. Well he's been in uniform and is practicing, so give him some time.
You would think some word would be from the Chronicle about Steve practicing, the last I heard was that he was not going through full practices. Anyone have an update? DD
