Yeah I heard that too...very interesting quote. Hill has a tremendous skill set though. If the Rockets staff could help him develop to his potential, he could very well be one of the top players of the draft imo.
He also said he had an 15-18 foot jump shot which made me raise an eyebrow. IF he can consistently hit that shot while playing "D" and rebounding then he will do just fine next season.
That's similiar to what was reported about his progress, a week or two before he was traded, just sub Rockets with Knicks coaches.
He needs to play at the NBA level so he can learn and grow into a NBA player. We need to know what we have so we make the right moves over the summer for next year. Scola will get paid this summer (there are a lot of teams with needs and money to fill them). Is Hill the answer or not? Playing time is the only way tell.

Ha! I quit before the game ends . That's why I did not see him play. Hopefully he can be a force someday.
I'm too lazy to re-type it, but Jordan Hill was probably not traded to the Rockets because Daryl Morey insisted on him as an asset. It was more about the Knicks' cap situation: http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showpost.php?p=5131209&postcount=32 That said, Jordan has talent and could become a very effective NBA player.
D'Antoni is such a homer, drafts his god son Gallanari, signs Duhon after consulting Coach K and drafts Hill from Arizona probably after talking to Lute Olson. Walsh should fire his scouting staff after picking this kid over Jennings. He may be good but the Knicks need help now, not in 2 years.
In the very brief time he played I noticed that he moves very very well for a big man. Extremely quick. Let's hope he has a good work ethic, he may be a diamond in the rough. Chase gave him a very nice pass for an open wing 15 footer that he missed, it was a good pass......bad finish. So, too early to tell, but his athleticism looked really good, in a very brief 2 minute stint that is... DD
Man, I moved from Houston to Vegas 9 years ago, and I am starting to not remember places back home. China Garden sounds familiar. Westheimer?
Typically lottery picks come into poorly constructed teams so there are huge chunks of playing time available for them. The Rockets situation is fairly different where most of the rotation is set. I doubt Hill gets much playing time at all this year. He is going to have to do a ton of practicing and scrimmaging, imho, before he sees the court.
Rick Adelman scoured youtube for videos of Hill passing and found none - thus he will remain on the bench.
prob should make sure you watch the actual games before claiming he hasnt been around, or at least the box score
It's not good to rush young prospects like Hill, he hasn't played bball very long... The best thing is to send him to the d league with Taylor to get some minutes.
As I've said before dozens of time , Jordan Hill, once he gets the opportunity, WILL surprise a lot of people with his offensive skills. Has a very nice stroke up to 18 feet even and has a very consistent and soft turnaround right hand hook but can be a very crafty scorer at times

I saw a comparison to Bosh. Basically the guy has the tools too become a legitimate threat. He's only played organize ball since the 10th grade and has excelled on every level so far. He needs time to develop and a staff that can do that. That's where the Rockets come through. The problem with a lot of teams is that they can't develop players. Good teams develop talent. They make decent players good and good players great. Do you think Andrew Bynum would've amounted to anything in New York.
He's always had the 15-18' jumper. That was part of his game even at college. Very good rebounder, quick and athletic with size. NY are certainly duds, but there's a reason they picked him at 8.
This. As long as the Rockets keep their current staff and philosophy, rookies will reach their potential here.
