I don't know why J Howard didn't play - I'm very curious to know why. And I didn't like all the bashing he took in pre-season.

J Howard is a big PF with a good jumper - and he may be old, but so is mutombo. The guy is a vertern Rocket and deserves respect - I don't know why he's in any doghouse....

Where was Chuck when the rockets made there run to get back in the game? You're talking about a player that plays in spurts. And for his size he needs to play consistently and produce. I don't want hear " Jeff didn't put him in". If he was doing all the right things he would be in the game.

So you're saying JVG playing somebody is what makes them good? Like when we played Bowen, Rod Strickland, or Charlie Ward?

Look... JVG isn't Red Auerbach or Phil Jackson yet. Because he plays or doesn't play somebody, doesn't make it a good decision.

As for JVG's coaching, I'm growing tired of his complaints about a lack of effort. We've gone through a number of different players over the course of his 4 years. Every year this team comes out lethargic early in games and early in the season. At some point, isn't the coach the problem if the team isn't giving enough effort? He makes a perfect case to Les, CD, and Morey why he should get canned. How bout inspiring your team for once, Jeff????

Now, that's funny! This is just another way of saying those conclusions are no more than objective opinions of the analysts. Charlie Rosen always has the edge on objective opionions.

Also, tell me what metrics are important and what metrics arent. What metrics should we use to say Juwan sucks and Battier rocks? Come on, educate me. I have been dealing with gigabytes of data for too long and need some new knowledge.

Totally agree. I honestly see that he is not the coach for this team.

His philosophy isnt working. The offense is mostly jittery and not smooth at all. There is no real flow, no cutting players, not enough movement to put pressure on the defense, and the same freaking screen and roll every other play that the entire league knows by heart.

Yeah that quick move from the FT line to the basket where Tmac hit him with a pass and Hayes laid it in was nothing. Oops, it is the kinda thing that used to never happen on this team.

Where was JHo? On the end of the bench collecting social security. He was a stud over 10 years ago. Those days for him are over.

I think there has been some kind of inside trouble with the team an Howard. from what you say? Anyway, hopefully game1 wasn't representative of what will come. However it's my belief, if you have players in the roster, you either put them in the court or trade them if you're not willing to.

So the team AND the player should sit in front of a table and deal with their differences or if not possible, go for a trade that will bring to the team a good forward center that is a monster in defence and rebounds, since Yao can compensate for the offence.

I was wondering, can Battier play the SG for a few minutes? Maybe he could play with TMAC as a point, or Wells as a SG and him as a SF and Hayes(if Howard MUST NOT play) to make a better basis for rebounds and defence?

Or maybe give Spanoulis a shot for the point and keep him(bat) for a SF and find an able to score PF which isn't weak in defence. What's the problem with Howard anyway? Doesn't he want to maybe help the team to a championship which would give him the ability to get a fat contract to any team he wants?

Alternatively I suppose the coach could run the team more if playing with a forward that's smaller, like Battier, but maybe Gandy doen't play like that(would be interesting to use Wells for SG and Tmac as a SF if so though).

Anyway, I'm not the coach, I suppose he has something in his mind that has to be played perfectly in court to see were he's getting at, so I'm expecting the first game after JVG will say "that's how I want us to play" to comment it further.

It's easy to rip a guy when you show nothing but negative stuff. Real fair and balanced. tinman has an healthy hatred for Howard anyway so his opinions and videos mean nothing to me and have zero credibility.

Much easier on Juwan since most of his highlights has him getting raped!

Not everyone can bring you quality news like FOX! Why dont you balance it out by posting clips of Juwan dunking on everyone! :D

Tinman, like most others on this board, has hatred for Juwan's production on the basketball court. :)

Sorry I made up that video Rocksmillenium, I used some Jar Jar Binks technology to make a computer generated Juwan look alike get blocked by a PG that looked like Mike Bibby.
How do I hate Juwan? He played great today!

juwan was decent a couple years ago... now he is where he belongs, behind chuck hayes and on the bench

last night helped to prove that the rockets do not need juwan to play very much if anything at all

every player has plays that can be used to make him look bad....no one is perfect so if you have the tape...it is easy to make a player look like total crap.

I guarantee you I could put together a video that would make even the best player look like a scrub....

how would you like it if I made a vid that had all of Maxwell's worst plays on it?

like RoxMIll said...your irrational hatred of Howard is well known and as such nothing you say can be taken seriously.

Howard will be part of the platoon that spells Yao, including Hayes, Howard and Mutombo, if hayes plays more minutes at the 4, then Howard and Mutombo will platoon the backup center spot.

Juwan isn't part of anything. He'll be parked on the bench as long as Hayes is effective. After the preseason and first two games, this should be obvious to everybody. Why people still like making fun of him and "hating" on him is beyond ridiculous. It's almost like some people have a fetish they are addicted to. When he plays they complain and when he doesn't they still pile on. Let's move on folks. Try overcoming your addiction.
