Currently living in Tokyo, Japan before heading back to NYC later next year, but Houston was and will always be my hometown.
Born in Kountze, Tx, raised in nearby Silsbee, texas. I've been in and out of Houston all my life and now living in the near NW side of Houston.
Born New Orleans, grew up in Port Arthur, college in St Louis, med school in Houston, residency in Kansas City, Beaumont for the last 16 years. Became a basketball fan watching the great Walt Frazier-led Knicks on Saturdays (1972-74) from MSG on NBC; a Rockets fan when Port Arthur first got cable tv (74-75?). As a kid I'd watch those games and then go out and play till past midnight. Now my kids think it's kinda strange that I still do that...
Born In Houston, Raised In Austin, now living in Richlands, North Carolina. Damn, I miss Texas. Especially Cooper's BBQ in Llano, TX and Pappasito's. Can't get TEX BBQ or TEXMEX out here!
Born on Okinanwa (army brat) Adopted Texas as my home state: 1976 Adopted Houston as my home city: 1978 Houston Rockets fan: 1979 Live in Denton TX (moved recently from SA) RR
For anyone here in NYC, let's get together sometime and watch the games. I know a bar where the game will definitely be put on just for us. I moved up to NYC to attend culinary school at the French Culinary institute. So I am definitely will to fix up meals for us Rockets fans here in NYC. I'll definitely cook some home cooking, Tex Mex, and whatever fits your tounges. I've brought it up during playoffs and actually met up with someone from this board a few times. Rooting as a group is fun. Especially when the Rockets play the Knicks this season.
