You can't comeback without having defense either. It's a two way street. You need offensive and defensive players to score.

Not all the time. Good defense means your transition offense is better than average, but good defense doesn't always translate to points. More than not teams have to set the offense, after good defense. That's why 2 way players now are more important than past era's.
